Portable storage box

Abstract

The present invention relates to a portable storage box comprising: a lower portion, where said lower portion includes a base and four sidewalls, where said sidewalls form a storage space; and a lid, where said lid covers the storage space. The lid may be slidably coupled to at least two sidewalls through a channel or a depression configured on a top portion of the at least two sidewalls. In another exemplary embodiment, the lid may be hingedly coupled to one of the sidewalls. The lid may also include a holding mechanism configured on a top surface thereof for manipulating, such as holding and sliding, the lid. Exemplary embodiments o the holding mechanism may include a clip or an aperture configured in the top surface of the lid.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A portable storage box comprising:
 a. a lower portion, where said lower portion includes a base and four sidewalls, where said sidewalls form a storage space; and   b. a lid, where said lid covers the storage space and where said lid interchangeable moves from a closed position and an open position, said storage box being accessible from both the closed position and the open position.   
     
     
         2 . The portable storage box according to  claim 1 , where said lid is slidably coupled to at least two sidewalls through a channel configured on a top portion of the at least two sidewalls. 
     
     
         3 . The portable storage box according to  claim 1 , where said lid is slidably coupled to at least two sidewalls through a depression configured on a top portion of the at least two sidewalls. 
     
     
         4 . The portable storage box according to  claim 1 , where said lid is hingedly coupled to one of the sidewalls. 
     
     
         5 . The portable storage box according to  claim 1 , where said lid includes a holding mechanism configured on a top surface thereof for manipulating, such as holding and sliding, the lid. 
     
     
         6 . The portable storage box according to  claim 1 , where said holding mechanism is at least one of a clip and an aperture configured in the top surface of the lid. 
     
     
         7 . The portable storage box according to  claim 1 , where said storage space may be partially exposed by moving the lid. 
     
     
         8 . The portable storage box according to  claim 1 , where said lid and box are made of at least one of a recyclable plastic material and a lightweight metal.
