Deloxiglumide and proton pump inhibitors combination in the treatment of gastrointestinal disorders

Abstract

Cholecystokinin-1 (CCK1) receptor antagonists and the combination of CCK1 receptor antagonists and proton pump inhibitors (PPI) for the treatment of patients suffering from gastrointestinal or related disorders that have failed to completely respond to conventional acid suppression therapy.

A pharmaceutical composition for treatment of a gastrointestinal disorder wherein the gastrointestinal disorder is selected from the group consisting of functional dyspepsia and gastroesophageal reflux disease, and wherein the composition comprises: (i) dexloxiglumide; (ii) a proton pump inhibitor (PPI); and (iii) a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier or excipient, wherein the dexloxiglumide is present at a dosage from 100 to 1000 mg and the proton pump inhibitor is present at a dosage of from 5 to 40 mg.
