Abstract
A method is described for treating tinnitus aureum in a subject by administering to the subject a therapeutically effective amount of a compound as defined in Formula I herein, illustratively (R)-2-acetamido-N-benzyl-3-methoxypropionamide, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.

exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A method of treating tinnitus aureum in a subject, comprising administering to the subject an effective amount of a compound of Formula I:
wherein:
Ar is phenyl which is unsubstituted or substituted with at least one halo group;
Q is lower alkoxy containing 1-3 carbon atoms; and
Q 1 is methyl;
or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the compound of Formula (I) or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof is in the R configuration.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein, in the compound of Formula I, Ar is unsubstituted phenyl.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein, in the compound of Formula I, Ar is phenyl substituted with fluoro.
5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the compound of Formula I is (R)-2-acetamido-N-benzyl-3-methoxypropionamide or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the compound of Formula I is (R)-2-acetamido-N-benzyl-3-methoxypropionamide.
7 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the compound is administered in a daily dosage amount of about 1 to about 600 mg.
8 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the compound is administered in a daily dosage amount of about 300 to about 600 mg.
9 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the compound is administered in a daily dosage amount of about 1 to about 300 mg.
10 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the compound is administered in an oral dosage amount of about 1 to about 600 mg per day.
11 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the compound or salt thereof is administered in a daily dosage amount of about 1 to about 600 mg.
12 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the compound or salt thereof is administered in a daily dosage amount of about 1 to about 300 mg.
13 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the compound or salt thereof is administered in a daily dosage amount of about 300 to about 600 mg.
