Abstract

A roller for a conveyor comprising a cylindrical core defining a support surface; a helical groove disposed in said support surface and lagging bonded to said support surface.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A method of coating a roller comprising: (a) rotating said roller; (b) applying a lagging material unto said outer support surface of said rotating roller while axially moving said lagging material to coat said roller; (c) curing said lagging material.

2 . A method as claimed in claim 13 comprising forming a spiral groove into said outer support surface prior to applying said lagging material.

3 . A method as claimed in claim 14 wherein said lagging material comprises urethane poured unto said roller.

4 . A method as claimed in claim 15 wherein said urethane pours unto said roller as a line.

5 . A method as claimed in claim 16 comprising forming two opposed spiral grooves from either end of said roller.

6 . A method as claimed in claim 17 wherein said outer diameter of said end is less than the outer diameter of an intermediate region between said ends.

7 . A method as claimed in claim 18 wherein said spiral groove is formed in a lathe.

8 . A method as claimed in claim 19 wherein said urethane is poured unto said outer surface in a line by gravity at a temperature of 80.degree. F. and 90.degree. F.
