Abstract
Methods for the deployment of an image servicing platform over a mobile wireless network ate described. A mobile multimedia service controller (MMSC) includes a video gateway that is capable of transcoding among different video formats supported by an imaging service platform. The MMSC can be connected over a network to a download server that provides updates to a transcoder application and a video image application.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A method of deploying an imaging service platform comprising the steps of: providing a transcoder application on a download server connected to a network; signaling the network that the transcoder application is available for deployment; and deploying the transcoder application over the network from the download server to a video gateway located on the network.
2 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising the step of automatically installing the deployed transcoder application on the video gateway.
3 . The method of claim 2 , further comprising the step of automatically configuring the installed transcoder application on the video gateway.
4 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising the step of manually installing the deployed transcoder application on the video gateway.
5 . The method of claim 4 , further comprising the step of manually configuring the installed transcoder application on the video gateway.
6 . The method of claim 4 , wherein the step of signaling the network comprises an indication that the transcoder application available for deployment is an updated version.
7 . A method of deploying an imaging service platform comprising the steps of:
providing a mobile video imaging application on a download server connected to a network; signaling a video-enabled device connected to the network that the mobile video imaging application is available for deployment; and deploying the mobile video imaging application over the network from the download server to the video-enabled device.
8 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the video-enable device is a telephone handset.
9 . The method of claim 8 , wherein the handset communicates with the network wirelessly.
10 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the video-enable device is a digital monitoring camera.
11 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the camera communicates with the network wirelessly.
12 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the step of signaling a video-enabled device comprises signaling a user of the device that the mobile video imaging application is available for deployment.
13 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the step of signaling a video-enabled device comprises signaling only the device and not a user of the device.
14 . The method of claim 7 , further comprising the step of installing the deployed mobile video imaging application on the video-enabled device.
15 . The method of claim 14 , further comprising the step of configuring the installed mobile video imaging application on the video-enabled device.
16 . The method of claim 7 , further comprising the step of sending a signal from the video-enabled device to the network that the deployment is complete.
17 . A method of deploying an imaging service platform comprising the steps of:
providing a transcoder application on a first download server area connected to a network; signaling the network that the transcoder application is available for deployment; and deploying the transcoder application over the network from the download server to a video gateway located on the network. providing a mobile video imaging application on a second download server area connected to a network; signaling a video-enabled device connected to the network that the mobile video imaging application is available for deployment; and deploying the mobile video imaging application over the network from the download server to the video-enabled device.
18 . The method of claim 17 , wherein the first and second download server areas are located on the same server.
19 . The method of claim 17 , wherein the first and second download server areas are located on different servers.
20 . The method of claim 17 , wherein the video-enable device communicates with the network wirelessly.Cited by (0)
