Abstract
The present invention provides stable pharmaceutical compositions of poorly water soluble pharmaceutical agents and stabilizing agents which function to increase stability of the compositions. The use of stabilizing agents provide extended stability of nanoparticle suspensions and other formulations of poorly water soluble pharmaceutical agents such as docetaxel under certain conditions, for example upon dilution for administration.

38 . The pharmaceutical composition of claim 1 , wherein said solvent is ethanol.
39 . The pharmaceutical composition of claim 1 , wherein the surfactant is polysorbate 80.
40 . The pharmaceutical composition of claim 1 , wherein said buffer comprises citrate.
41 . The pharmaceutical composition of claim 1 , wherein said composition is suitable for administration.
42 . A method of treating cancer, the method comprising intravenously administering the pharmaceutical composition of claim 1 .
43 . A method of making a pharmaceutical composition of claim 1 , comprising combining a) docetaxel, b) a solvent, c) a surfactant, and d) a buffer.
