Abstract

An enantioselective zwitterionic ion-exchange material comprising a chiral selector component (SO) comprising at least one cation exchange group and at least one anion exchange group and a carrier, carrying said selector component, wherein the chiral selector component comprises at least one chiral linker moiety to connect said ion exchange groups in a non-macro-cyclic fashion, and said chiral linker moiety contains at least one π-π interaction site.

1 . An enantioselective zwitterionic ion-exchange material comprising a chiral selector component (SO) comprising at least one cation exchange group and at least one anion exchange group and a carrier, carrying said selector component, wherein
 the chiral selector component comprises at least one chiral linker moiety to connect said ion exchange groups in a non-macrocyclic fashion, and   said chiral linker moiety contains at least one π-π interaction site.   
     
     
         2 . An enantioselective zwitterionic ion-exchange material according to  claim 1 , wherein said at least one cation exchange group has a pka <5.5, and said at least one anion exchange group has a pka >8.0. 
     
     
         3 . An enantioselective zwitterionic ion exchange material according to  claim 2 , wherein said cation exchange group has a pka <3.0 and said anion exchange group has a pka >8.0 
     
     
         4 . An enantioselective zwitterionic ion exchange material according to  claim 1 , wherein said selector compound SO contains at least two acidic groups with pka values <5.5 and at least one basic group with pka >8.0. 
     
     
         5 . An enantioselective zwitterionic ion exchange material according to  claim 1 , wherein said selector compound SO contains at least two basic groups with pka values >8.0 and at least one acid group with a pka <5.5. 
     
     
         6 . An enantioselective zwitterionic ion exchange material according to  claim 1 , characterized in that said cation exchange group is a carboxylic, sulfonic, sulfinic, phosphoric, phosphonic or phosphinic group. 
     
     
         7 . An enantioselective zwitterionic ion exchange material according to  claim 1 , characterized in that said anion exchange group is a primary, secondary, tertiary or quarternary amino group. 
     
     
         8 . An enantioselective zwitterionic ion exchange material according to  claim 1 , wherein said at least one anion exchange group is a quinine or quinidine residue. 
     
     
         9 . An enantioselective zwitterionic ion exchange material according to  claim 1 , wherein said at least one cation exchange group is a sulfonic acid group.
