Abstract

The present invention is broadly directed towards a receiving container for an LCD apparatus for securing a lamp and lamp wiring connected to a lamp. The receiving container has features for substantially preventing the lamp wiring from being disconnected from the lamp. For example, a first through-hole for receiving the lamp wiring, a first trench, securing members, and securing projections are utilized to substantially prevent lamp wiring from being disconnected from a lamp. Additionally, the LCD apparatus is easily handled, dissipates heat effectively, and has a light weight.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A backlight assembly comprising:
 a light guide plate; a light source assembly adjacent to the light guide plate and having a light source and a wire supplying power to the light source; a first frame having a lower plate and a sidewall, and having a trench formed along one of a portion of the first frame; a second frame positioned on an outside surface of the lower plate of the first frame; and a securing member positioned on the outside surface of the lower plate and comprising a securing groove.

         2 . The backlight assembly of claim 1 , wherein the wire extends from an inner space of the first frame to an outer space of the first frame.

         3 . The backlight assembly of claim 2 , wherein the wire extends through the sidewall of the first frame.

         4 . The backlight assembly of claim 1 , wherein the wire is held in the trench of the first frame.

         5 . The backlight assembly of claim 1 , wherein the trench comprises first and second trenches.

         6 . The backlight assembly of claim 1 , wherein the securing member is spaced apart from the trench.

         7 . The backlight assembly of claim 6 , wherein the securing groove of the securing member fixes a portion of the wire exiting from the trench.

         8 . The backlight assembly of claim 7 , wherein the number of the securing grooves is equal to the number of the wires.

         9 . A liquid crystal display (LCD) apparatus comprising:
 an LCD panel displaying an image; and a backlight assembly disposed under the LCD panel and providing light to the LCD panel, the backlight assembly comprising:
 a light guide plate;
 a light source assembly adjacent to the light guide plate and having a light source and a wire supplying power to the light source;
 a first frame having a lower plate and a sidewall, and having a trench formed along one of a portion of the first frame;
 a second frame positioned on an outside surface of the lower plate of the first frame; and
 a securing member positioned on the outside surface of the lower plate and comprising a securing groove.

         10 . The LCD apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the wire extends from an inner space of the first frame to an outer space of the first frame.

         11 . The LCD apparatus of claim 10 , wherein the wire extends through the sidewall of the first frame.

         12 . The LCD apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the wire is held in the trench of the first frame.

         13 . The LCD apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the trench comprises first and second trenches.

         14 . The LCD apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the securing member is spaced apart from the trench.

         15 . The LCD apparatus of claim 14 , wherein the securing groove of the securing member fixes a portion of the wire exiting from the trench.

         16 . The LCD apparatus of claim 15 , wherein the number of the securing grooves is equal to the number of the wires.
