Abstract
A method for remote-hosted video effects includes rendering an application frame buffer in a hosting service that is streaming interactive video. Only a portion of the application frame buffer is subsequently displayed on a local device.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A method comprising:
rendering an application frame buffer in a hosting service that is streaming interactive video; and displaying only a portion of the application frame buffer on a local device.
2 . The method of claim 1 wherein the hosting service only streams the portion displayed on the local device.
3 . The method of claim 1 wherein the hosting service streams the application frame buffer in its entirety, the local device cropping the application frame buffer, with the portion being displayed in a video window on the local device.
4 . The method of claim 3 wherein the local device sends a first control input to the hosting service regarding the cropping of the video window.
5 . The method of claim 4 wherein the local device sends a second control input to the hosting service regarding positioning of the video window.
6 . The method of claim 5 wherein the local device sends a third control input to the hosting service regarding scaling of the video window.
7 . The method of claim 6 wherein the first, second, and third control inputs are generated responsive commands of a touch screen user interface.
8 . The method of claim 7 wherein the commands include a dragging command.
9 . The method of claim 7 wherein the commands include a swiping command.
10 . The method of claim 7 wherein the commands include a pinching command.
11 . The method of claim 7 wherein the commands include a widening command.
12 . The method of claim 1 wherein the application comprises a web browser.
13 . The method of claim 1 wherein the hosting service and the local device are connected to the Internet, the hosting service having a higher bandwidth connection to the Internet as compared to the local device.
14 . The method of claim 1 wherein the hosting service and the local device are connected to the Internet, the hosting service having a lower latency connection to the Internet as compared to the local device.Cited by (0)
