Method for rinsing cleaned dishware
Abstract
A method of rinsing cleaned dishware comprising the steps of: (a) cleaning dishware in an automatic dishwasher; and (b) during the rinse cycle of said automatic dishwasher, rinsing said dishware with a rinse aid composition comprising: at least one a graft polymer comprising an acrylic acid backbone and alkoxylated side chains, said polymer comprising a molecular weight of from about 2,000 to about 20,000, said graft polymer comprising from about 20 wt % to about 50 wt % of an alkylene oxide; an acid; a non-ionic surfactant; and optionally at least one component selected from the group consisting of dispersant polymer, perfume, hydrotrope, binder, carrier medium, antibacterial active, dye, zinc carbonate, zinc chloride, and mixtures thereof.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A method of rinsing cleaned dishware comprising the steps of:
(a) cleaning dishware in an automatic dishwasher; and (b) during the rinse cycle of said automatic dishwasher, rinsing said dishware with a rinse aid composition comprising:
i. at least one a graft polymer comprising an acrylic acid backbone and alkoxylated side chains, said polymer comprising a molecular weight of from about 2,000 to about 20,000, and said polymer comprising from about 20 wt % to about 50 wt % of an alkylene oxide;
ii. a non-ionic surfactant;
iii. optionally an acid; and
iv. optionally at least one component selected from the group consisting of dispersant polymer, perfume, hydrotrope, binder, carrier medium, antibacterial active, dye, zinc carbonate, zinc chloride, and mixtures thereof.
2 . A method according to claim 1 , wherein said composition comprises a pH of from about 1 to 6.
3 . A method according to claim 1 , further comprising an acid.
4 . A method according to claim 3 , wherein said acid is selected from the group consisting of nitric acid, acetic acid, formic acid, gluconic acid, glutamic acid, malic acid, nitric acid, sulfuric acid, and mixtures thereof,
5 . A method according to claim 1 , further comprising a particulate zinc-containing material.
6 . A method according to claim 5 , wherein said particulate zinc-containing material is selected from the group consisting of zinc aluminate, zinc carbonate, zinc oxide and mixtures thereof.
7 . A method according to claim 1 , wherein said acrylic acid polymer comprises from about 30 wt % to about 45 wt % of an alkylene oxide.
8 . A method according to claim 1 , wherein said alkylene oxide is selected from ethylene oxide and propylene oxide.
9 . A method according to claim 1 , wherein said alkoxylated side chains comprise from about 10 to about 55 AO units.
10 . A method according to claim 1 , wherein said alkoxylated side chains comprise from about 20 to about 50 AO units.
11 . A method according to claim 1 , further comprising a hydrotrope.
12 . A method according to claim 1 , further comprising a binder.
13 . A method according to claim 1 , wherein said dishware comprises one or more pieces of glassware.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
