Abstract
A stretched mechanical fastening web laminate having a thermoplastic web layer with two major surfaces is disclosed. One of the major surfaces bears a multitude of male fastening elements suitable for engagement with a corresponding female fastening material, and on its other major surface is a fibrous nonwoven web layer. The stretched mechanical fastening web laminate is stretched to provide a basis weight of less than 100 g/m 2 .
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A stretched mechanical fastening web laminate comprising a thermoplastic web layer having two major surfaces, a first major surface bearing a multitude of male fastening elements suitable for engagement with a corresponding female fastening material, with a fibrous nonwoven web layer on its second major surface, the stretched mechanical fastening web laminate having been stretched to provide a basis weight of less than 100 g/m 2 .
. A stretched mechanical fastening web laminate according to claim 1 , wherein the fibrous nonwoven web layer is continuous laminated to the second major surface of the thermoplastic web layer.
. A stretched mechanical fastening web laminate according to claim 1 having a density of the male fastening elements of between 1 and 2,500 per cm 2 .
. A stretched mechanical fastening web laminate according to claim 1 , wherein the thermoplastic web layer has a thickness of between 5 and 25 μm.
. A stretched mechanical fastening web laminate according to claim 1 having a tensile strength in a machine direction as measured according to DIN EN ISO 527 of at least 15 N/25 mm.
. A stretched mechanical fastening web laminate according to claim 1 , wherein the fibrous nonwoven web layer comprised in the stretched mechanical fastening laminate has a basis weight of from 1 to 30 g/m 2 .
. A stretched mechanical fastening web laminate according to claim 1 , having been monoaxially stretched.
. A stretched mechanical fastening web laminate according to claim 1 , having been biaxially stretched.
. A stretched mechanical fastening web laminate according to claim 1 , wherein the stretched mechanical fastening web laminate exhibits a tensile strength at break that is higher than a tensile strength at break of a comparable thermoplastic web layer having a basis weight and a stretch ratio that are the same as the basis weight and stretch ratio of the stretched mechanical fastening web laminate.
. The method according to claim 9 , wherein the tensile strength at break of the stretched mechanical fastening web laminate is at least 10 percent higher than the tensile strength of the comparable thermoplastic web layer.
. A stretched mechanical fastening web laminate according to claim 1 , wherein the fibrous nonwoven web layer is free of staple fibers.
. A disposable absorbent article comprising a portion of the stretched mechanical fastening web laminate of claim 11 .
. A disposable absorbent article according to claim 12 , wherein the male fastening elements are exposed and the fibrous web layer is not exposed.
. A stretched mechanical fastening web laminate according to claim 11 , wherein the fibrous nonwoven web layer is a spunbond or melt blown nonwoven material.
. A disposable absorbent article comprising a portion of the stretched mechanical fastening web laminate of claim 14 .
. A disposable absorbent article according to claim 15 , wherein the male fastening elements are exposed and the fibrous web layer is not exposed.
. A disposable absorbent article comprising a portion of the stretched mechanical fastening web laminate of claim 2 .
. A disposable absorbent article according to claim 17 , wherein the male fastening elements are exposed and the fibrous web layer is not exposed.
. A disposable absorbent article comprising a portion of the stretched mechanical fastening web laminate of claim 1 .
. A disposable absorbent article according to claim 19 , wherein the male fastening elements are exposed and the fibrous web layer is not exposed.Cited by (0)
