Abstract
A cold appliance construction kit comprising a cooling module ( 102 ), a plurality of cabinet panels, including wall panels ( 1, 4 ), to be assembled into a cabinet, and at least one door ( 6 ). Each cabinet panel comprises an inner sheet ( 9 ), an outer sheet ( 8 ) and an intermediary layer ( 17 ) of a foamed insulating material, wherein each cabinet panel has an inner surface, an outer surface, and four edge surfaces. The edge surfaces ( 16 ) of a first wall panel ( 1 ) is formed such that at least one of said outer and inner sheets comprises an edge portion ( 16 ) that extends beyond the edge surface of the foamed insulating material and provides an attachment area for attachment to another cabinet panel ( 4 ).

2 . A cold appliance construction kit according to claim 1 , wherein said edge portion ( 16 ) extends at an angle to the rest of the sheet and covers, at least partly, the edge surface ( 16 ) of the foamed insulating material.

A cold appliance construction kit according to claim 2 , wherein said wall panels comprises a second wall panel ( 4 ), which is arranged to be interconnected with said first wall panel ( 1 ) by means of a joint, wherein the edge portion ( 16 ) of the first wall panel is embodied in the outer sheet ( 8 ) thereof, and wherein an edge portion ( 18 ) of the outer sheet of said second wall panel ( 4 ) extends beyond the edge surface ( 56 ) of foamed material of the second panel ( 4 ) and is attachable to the first wall panel ( 1 ) at said attachment area for forming the joint.

A cold appliance construction kit according to claim 1 , wherein said edge portion ( 16 ) of the first wall panel ( 1 ) is formed in the outer sheet ( 8 ) thereof and has a first subportion which extends at an angle to the rest of the outer sheet and covers the edge surface of the foamed insulating material, and a second subportion, which extends in parallel with the outer surface of the first wall panel and embodies a portion of the inner surface thereof, wherein said wall panels comprises a second wall panel ( 4 ), which is arranged to be interconnected with said first wall panel ( 1 ) by means of a joint, and which comprises an edge portion ( 18 ) formed in the outer sheet thereof and extending at an angle to the rest of the outer sheet and partly covers the edge surface of the foamed insulating material, wherein the second subportion is attachable to the edge portion of the second wall panel.

A cold appliance construction kit according to claim 1 , wherein at least one of the panels ( 4 ) has an engagement area at the inner surface thereof, where it is arranged to be joined with an edge surface of the foamed insulating material of another panel ( 1 ), which engagement area is lacking any inner or outer sheet such that the wall panels will be connected foam to foam in order to prevent any thermal bridge between the interior of the cabinet and the ambient air.

A cold appliance construction kit according to claim 1 , wherein the kit comprises a further cabinet panel being a middle section ( 7 ) to be assembled together with the other cabinet wall panels ( 1 , 4 ) for dividing the cabinet compartment into more than one compartment, wherein the middle section ( 7 ) is attached to a cabinet wall panel ( 1 ) by gluing and/or sliding the middle section ( 7 ) into milled out channel in the cabinet wall ( 1 ).
7 . A cold appliance construction kit according to claim 6 , wherein a support part ( 210 , 218 , 219 ) is adapted to be attached to the middle section ( 7 ), said support part provides an attachment area for attachment to another cabinet wall panel ( 1 )

A cabinet for a cold appliance, which cabinet has been assembled from separate pre-foamed cabinet panels ( 1 , 4 ) comprising two opposite side wall panels ( 1 ), a rear wall panel ( 4 ), a top panel ( 2 ), and a bottom panel ( 103 ), which are connected essentially perpendicular to each other by means of joints, wherein at least the side wall panels and the rear wall panel each have an inner surface, an outer surface and four edge surfaces, and comprises an inner sheet ( 9 ) defining the inner surface, an outer sheet ( 8 ) defining the outer surface and an intermediary layer ( 17 ) of a foamed insulating material, characterized in that at least one of the joints between the side wall panels and the rear wall panel is designed such that at least one of the inner sheet and the outer sheet of at least a first wall panel of the wall panels involved in the joint has an edge portion ( 16 ) that extends beyond the edge surface of foamed material ( 17 ) and provides an attachment area at which a second wall panel involved in the joint is attached.
9 . A cabinet for a cold appliance according to claim 8 , wherein said edge portion ( 16 ) providing an attachment area extends at an angle to the rest of the sheet and covers, at least partly, the edge surface of the foamed insulating material of the first wall panel.

A cabinet for a cold appliance according to claim 8 , wherein said edge portion ( 16 ) of the first wall panel ( 1 ) is embodied in the outer sheet ( 8 ) thereof, and wherein an edge portion ( 18 ) of the outer sheet ( 8 ) of the second wall panel ( 4 ), extends beyond the edge surface of foamed material of the second wall panel ( 4 ) and is attached with the first wall panel ( 4 ) at the attachment area of the first wall panel.

A cabinet for a cold appliance according to claim 8 , wherein said edge portion ( 16 ) of the first wall panel is formed in the outer sheet ( 8 ) thereof and has a first subportion which extends at an angle to the rest of the outer sheet and covers the edge surface of the foamed insulating material, and a second subportion, which extends in parallel with the outer surface of the first wall panel and embodies a portion of the inner surface thereof, wherein said second wall panel comprises an edge portion, which is formed in the outer sheet thereof and extends at an angle to the rest of the outer sheet, and which partly covers the edge surface of the foamed insulating material, wherein the second subportion is attached to the edge portion of the second wall panel.

A cabinet for a cold appliance according to claim 8 , wherein at least a part of an engagement area between the two wall panels ( 1 , 4 ) at the joint is lacking any inner or outer sheet such that the wall panels are connected foam to foam in this part in order to prevent any thermal bridge between the interior of the cabinet and the ambient air.

A cabinet for a cold appliance according to claim 8 , wherein the outer sheet ( 8 ) of both the first and the second wall panel ( 1 , 4 ) at a joint, adjacent to each respective edge portion, is provided with an elongated groove ( 19 ) formed of the outer sheet being curve shaped into the foam material ( 17 ), and wherein the cabinet further comprises a connection strip ( 20 ), which comprises two parallel longitudinal rib portions, which have been inserted into one groove each for connecting the two wall panels together.

A cabinet for a cold appliance according to claim 11 , wherein the second subportion of the edge portion ( 16 ) of the first wall panel ( 1 ) is curved shaped and forms a groove ( 21 ) into the foam material ( 17 ), whereas the edge portion of the second wall panel is complementary curved shaped and forms a rib ( 22 ), wherein the rib is inserted into the groove.

A cabinet wall panel ( 1 , 4 ) to be used in the assembly of a cabinet ( 101 ) for a cold appliance according to claim 6 , the cabinet wall panel comprises an inner sheet ( 9 ), an outer sheet ( 8 ) and an intermediary layer ( 17 ) of a foamed insulating material, wherein the outer sheet ( 8 ) extends with a free edge portion ( 18 ) in relation to the inner sheet ( 9 ) and the termediary layer ( 17 ) respectively.
16 . A cabinet wall panel according to claim 1 , wherein the outer sheet ( 8 ) is folded around the edge surface of the foamed insulating material ( 17 ) of the wall panel ( 1 , 4 ) forming an edge portion ( 16 ) to be used as an attachment area to other wall panels ( 1 , 4 ).Cited by (0)
