Abstract
Displaying a visual cue is disclosed. One or more search criteria is/are received. One or more objects that are associated with a user interface is/are searched based at least in part on the one or more search criteria to obtain a search result. A sequence of one or more choices associated with accessing the search result is/are obtained. A visual cue is displayed for at least a portion of the sequence of one or more choices.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 24 . (canceled)
25 . A method, comprising:
identifying, in response to a search, an interface object that is accessible via a user interface of a software application; determining a path or sequence of choices that enables access to the interface object in the user interface; and displaying a visual cue on the user interface that indicates at least a first portion of the path or sequence of choices.
26 . The method of claim 25 , wherein the search includes a keyword search or a graphical search.
27 . The method of claim 25 , wherein determining the path or sequence of choices includes determining a plurality of menu selections that provides access to the interface object, and wherein the interface object is configured to invoke a particular command, operation, feature, or capability of the software application.
28 . The method of claim 27 , wherein displaying the visual cue comprises surrounding, marking, or highlighting one or more of the plurality of menu selections.
29 . The method of claim 25 , wherein displaying the visual cue comprises surrounding, marking, or highlighting the interface object.
30 . The method of claim 25 , further comprising displaying another visual cue on the user interface that indicates at least a second portion of the path or sequence of choices.
31 . The method of claim 30 , wherein the displaying of the another visual cue is in response to a selection corresponding to the first portion of the path or sequence of choices.
32 . The method of claim 25 , wherein the software application includes a web-based application, a client-server application, or a network application.
33 . A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium having program instructions stored thereon that, upon execution by a computer system, cause the computer system to perform operations comprising:
identifying an interface object of a software application; determining a path or sequence of choices that exposes a corresponding interface object in a new version of the software application; and displaying a visual cue that indicates at least a first portion of the path or sequence of choices in the new version of the software application.
34 . The computer-readable storage medium of claim 33 , wherein identifying the interface object includes performing a keyword search or a graphical search.
35 . The computer-readable storage medium of claim 33 , wherein the interface object is configured to invoke a particular command, operation, feature, or capability of the new version of the software application.
36 . The computer-readable storage medium of claim 33 , wherein determining the path or sequence of choices includes determining a plurality of menu selections that exposes the corresponding interface object.
37 . The computer-readable storage medium of claim 36 , wherein displaying the visual cue comprises surrounding, marking, or highlighting one or more of the plurality of menu selections.
38 . The computer-readable storage medium of claim 33 , further comprising displaying another visual cue on the user interface that indicates at least a second portion of the path or sequence of choices in response to a selection corresponding to the first portion of the path or sequence of choices.
39 . The computer-readable storage medium of claim 33 , wherein the software application is one of a web-based application, a client-server application, or a network application.
40 . A system, comprising:
a processor; and a memory coupled to the processor and configured to store program instructions which, upon execution, cause the system to: identify an interface object of a software application, wherein the interface object is configured to invoke a particular command, operation, feature, or capability of the software application; determine a path or sequence of choices that exposes the interface object in the software application; and display a visual cue that indicates at least a first portion of the path or sequence of choices in the software application.
41 . The system of claim 40 , wherein to identify the interface object, the system performs a keyword search or a graphical search.
42 . The system of claim 40 , wherein to display the visual cue, the system surrounds, marks, or highlights the interface object.
43 . The system claim 40 , wherein the program instructions, upon execution, cause the system to display another visual cue that indicates at least a second portion of the path or sequence of choices.
44 . The system of claim 40 , wherein the software application is a web-based application, a client-server application, or a network application.Cited by (0)
