Abstract

A promoter isolated from Zea mays provides a high level of specificity for expression in developing pollen, particularly at the mid-uninucleate stage. Compositions and methods of use are disclosed.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A regulatory element for preferential expression of an operably-linked polynucleotide in developing pollen, comprising a sequence with at least 90% identity to SEQ ID NO: 1.

2 . A regulatory element for preferential expression of an operably-linked polynucleotide in developing pollen, comprising a sequence with at least 95% identity to SEQ ID NO: 1.

3 . A regulatory element for preferential expression of an operably-linked polynucleotide in developing pollen, comprising a functional fragment of SEQ ID NO: 1.
