Abstract
A method of controlling a point spread of an object is disclosed. The method includes determining a first value of a characteristic of an optical component of a display, wherein the display includes a first display screen and a second display screen, and wherein the first and second display screens overlap. The method also includes determining a position for the optical component based upon the first value of the characteristic by determining a distance from an origin of the object to the position based upon the first value of the characteristic.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A method of controlling a point spread of an object, said method comprising:
determining a first value of a characteristic of an optical component of a display, wherein said display comprises a first display screen and a second display screen, and wherein said first and second display screens overlap; and determining a position for said optical component based upon said first value of said characteristic by determining a distance from an origin of said object to said position based upon said first value of said characteristic.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein said object comprises an image.
3 . The method of claim 1 further comprising:
adjusting said optical component;
determining a second value of said characteristic of said optical component; and
determining a second position for said optical component based upon said second value of said characteristic.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein said origin is associated with said first display screen, and wherein said object is displayed on said first display screen.
5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein said determining further comprises determining said distance based upon a refractive index of a display screen selected from a group consisting of said first display screen and said second display screen.
6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein said first and second display screens are each selected from a group consisting of a liquid crystal display, an organic light emitting diode display, and a transparent organic light emitting diode display.
7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein said characteristic is associated with optical transmission through said optical component.
8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein said optical component is selected from a group consisting of a spatial filter, a prismatic filter, a spatial diffuser, and a holographic diffuser.
9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein said determining further comprises determining said position based upon a second characteristic selected from a group consisting of Moiré interference and blurriness.
10 . A method of controlling a point spread of an object, said method comprising:
determining a first value of a characteristic of an optical component of a projection system, wherein said projection system is operable to project an image; and determining a position for said optical component based upon said first value of said characteristic by determining a distance from an origin of said object to said position based upon said first value of said characteristic.
11 . The method of claim 10 , wherein said object comprises said image.
12 . The method of claim 10 further comprising:
adjusting said optical component;
determining a second value of said characteristic of said optical component; and
determining a second position for said optical component based upon said second value of said characteristic.
13 . The method of claim 10 , wherein said characteristic is associated with optical transmission through said optical component.
14 . The method of claim 10 , wherein said optical component is selected from a group consisting of a spatial filter, a prismatic filter, a spatial diffuser, and a holographic diffuser.
15 . The method of claim 10 , wherein said determining further comprises determining said position based upon a second characteristic selected from a group consisting of Moiré interference and blurriness.
16 . A method of controlling a point spread of an object, said method comprising:
determining a first value of a characteristic of an optical component of a display, wherein said display comprises a first display screen and a second display screen, and wherein said first and second display screens overlap; and determining a position for said optical component based upon said first value of said characteristic by determining a position operable to reduce Moiré interference resulting from an overlap of said first and second display screens.
17 . The method of claim 16 , wherein said determining further comprises determining a distance from an origin of said object to said position based upon said first value of said characteristic.
18 . The method of claim 16 , wherein said object comprises an image.
19 . The method of claim 16 further comprising:
adjusting said optical component;
determining a second value of said characteristic of said optical component; and
determining a second position for said optical component based upon said second value of said characteristic.
20 . The method of claim 16 , wherein said origin is associated with said first display screen, and wherein said object is displayed on said first display screen.
21 . The method of claim 16 , wherein said determining further comprises determining said distance based upon a refractive index of a display screen selected from a group consisting of said first display screen and said second display screen.
22 . The method of claim 16 , wherein said first and second display screens are each selected from a group consisting of a liquid crystal display, an organic light emitting diode display, and a transparent organic light emitting diode display.
23 . The method of claim 16 , wherein said characteristic is associated with optical transmission through said optical component.
24 . The method of claim 16 , wherein said optical component is selected from a group consisting of a spatial filter, a prismatic filter, a spatial diffuser, and a holographic diffuser.
25 . The method of claim 16 , wherein said determining further comprises determining said position based upon a blurriness associated with said object.Cited by (0)
