Sidewalk sheds
Abstract
The present invention provides a sidewalk shed system for use with a scaffold which includes a plurality of vertical posts and a horizontal platform, the temporary fencing system comprising at least two channels, at least one channel-post coupler for coupling a first channel to a lower part of the plurality of vertical posts forming a first lower channel, at least one channel-platform coupler for coupling a second channel to the horizontal platform forming a second lower channel, at least two quadrangular panels, wherein a lower edge of a first panel is to be inserted into the first lower channel, thereby forming a fence adjacent to the plurality of vertical posts, and a lower edge of a second panel is to be inserted into the second lower channel, thereby forming a parapet perpendicular to the horizontal platform.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A temporary fencing system for use with a scaffold, the temporary fencing system comprising:
at least one channel; at least one coupler for coupling the at least one channel to the scaffold; and at least one quadrangular panel, wherein the channel is adapted to receive a lower edge of the at least one panel, thereby forming a fence adjacent to the scaffold.
2 . A temporary fencing system for use with a scaffold which includes a plurality of vertical posts, the temporary fencing system comprising:
at least one channel; at least one channel-post coupler for coupling the at least one channel to a lower part of the plurality of vertical posts so as to form a lower channel; and at least one quadrangular panel, wherein the channel is adapted to receive a lower edge of the at least one panel, thereby forming a fence adjacent to the plurality of vertical posts.
3 . The temporary fencing system according to claim 2 comprising a plurality of channel-post couplers for coupling a further channel to the plurality of vertical posts above and aligned with the lower channel, so as to form an upper channel, wherein the upper channel is adapted to receive the upper edge of the panel, the lower channel, the upper channel and the panel forming a substantially vertical plane.
4 . The temporary fencing system according to claim 2 , further comprising at least one end coupler for coupling a channel to the vertical posts at the two ends of a row, where the plurality of vertical posts are arranged in at least one row.
5 . The temporary fencing system according to claim 4 , wherein the at least one end coupler includes a left end coupler for coupling a channel to the vertical posts at the left end of a row.
6 . The temporary fencing system according to claim 4 , wherein the at least one end coupler includes a right end coupler for coupling a channel to the vertical posts at the right end of a row.
7 . The temporary fencing system according to claim 2 , further comprising at least one corner coupler for coupling a channel to the vertical post at the corner where two rows of vertical posts perpendicular to each other meet, where the plurality of vertical posts are arranged in at least two rows.
8 . The temporary fencing system according to claim 7 , wherein the at least one corner coupler includes an external corner coupler for coupling a channel to the vertical post at the corner on the outside of the corner.
9 . The temporary fencing system according to claim 7 , wherein the at least one corner coupler includes an internal corner coupler for coupling a channel to the vertical post at the corner on the inside of the corner.
10 . A soffit infill system adapted for use with the temporary fencing system according to claim 3 , comprising at least one infill bracket and at least one infill sheet, for coupling the at least one infill sheet to the upper channel, so as to extend the height of the fence.
11 . The temporary fencing system according to claim 2 , further comprising a cantilever mechanism for extending the temporary fencing at right angle to a row of vertical posts.
12 . The temporary fencing system according to claim 3 , wherein the lower channel, the upper, channel, and a plurality of panels are arranged such that at least two panels are overlapped along the channels.
13 . The temporary fencing system according to claim 10 , wherein the panels and the infill sheet are made of metal.
14 . A temporary fencing system for use with a scaffold which includes a horizontal platform, the temporary fencing system comprising:
at least one channel; at least one channel-platform coupler for coupling the at least one channel to the horizontal platform so as to form a lower channel; and at least one quadrangular panel, wherein the channel is adapted to receive a lower edge of the at least one panel, thereby forming a parapet perpendicular to the horizontal platform.
15 . The temporary fencing system according to claim 14 , wherein the at least one channel-platform coupler couples a further channel, arranged to be mounted above and aligned with the lower channel, to the horizontal platform, so as to form an upper channel, wherein the upper channel is adapted to receive an upper edge of the at least one panel.
16 . The temporary fencing system according to claim 15 , wherein each channel-platform coupler comprises a vertical member onto which a lower channel bracket and an upper channel bracket are mounted, the lower channel bracket being adapted for holding an upward-facing channel to form the lower channel, and the upper channel bracket being adapted for holding a downward-facing channel to form the upper channel.
17 . The temporary fencing system according to claim 15 , wherein the upper channel bracket of each channel-platform coupler is arranged to allow vertical sliding motion along the vertical member so as to enable height adjustment.
18 . The temporary fencing system according to claim 15 , wherein each channel-to-platform coupler comprises a horizontal member for affixing the coupler to the platform.
19 . The temporary fencing system according to claim 15 , wherein each channel-platform coupler is provided with a reinforcing bar having one end affixed against the vertical member and the other end affixed against the horizontal member.Cited by (0)
