Abstract

A system and method for publishing information to a community of users is disclosed. Published information is inclusive of, for example, calendar data, blog data and photographs. Communities may be defined by PIM data or automatically generated by a data aggregation server in response to a user-defined rubric. Published information may be provided to a recipient or in conjunction with a notification delivered to the recipient. Published data may be subject to certain read/write limitations.

1 . A method of targeted notification of content availability to a mobile device, comprising:
 using community relationship information associated with a user who provided the content, identifying a target recipient;   sending the target recipient the notification of the availability of the content, via the mobile device associated with the target recipient.   
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein, the notification includes an SMS message. 
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 2 , wherein, the SMS message includes a link to access the content. 
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein, the notification includes an email message; wherein, the email includes a link to access the content. 
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein, the notification includes a voice mail message. 
     
     
         6 . A method for targeting content delivery to a mobile device, comprising:
 using community relationship information identified for the content, identifying a target recipient;   providing access to the content to the target recipient, via the mobile device associated with the target recipient.   
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 6 , further comprising, identifying the community relationship for the content based on a user associated with the content. 
     
     
         8 . The method of  claim 7 , wherein, the target recipient requests delivery of the content associated with the user. 
     
     
         9 . The method of  claim 7 , further comprising, querying the user to as to whether to provide the target recipient with access to the content. 
     
     
         10 . The method of  claim 7 , further comprising, querying the target recipient as to whether the target recipient wishes to receive access to the content. 
     
     
         11 . The method of  claim 7 , wherein, the content is provided by the user. 
     
     
         12 . The method of  claim 7 , wherein, the community relationship is defined by the user. 
     
     
         13 . The method of  claim 6 , wherein, the community relationship is identified using PIM data including calendar or contact data. 
     
     
         14 . The method of  claim 6 , wherein, the community relationship includes common employment. 
     
     
         15 . The method of  claim 6 , wherein; the community relationship includes family relationship. 
     
     
         16 . The method of  claim 6 , wherein, the content is detected via a polling operation. 
     
     
         17 . The method of  claim 6 , wherein, the content includes, a blog entry or a photograph. 
     
     
         18 . The method of  claim 6 , wherein, the object includes promotional content that is contextualized according to the content. 
     
     
         19 . The method of  claim 6 , wherein, the object includes advertiser-generated content or publisher-generated content. 
     
     
         20 . A system for pushing content to a mobile device, comprising:
 means for, receiving content or updated content from a first user;   means for, automatically pushing the content to the mobile device associated with a second user for access;   wherein, the second user is identified using the first user's contact data.
