System and method for producing a visual image signal for verifying content displayed on an electronic visual display

Abstract

A system and method for producing a visual image signal for verification of visual content contained in the visual image signal being displayed on an electronic display may include forming a verification code associated with the visual content. A visual verification code signal representative of the verification code may be generated. The visual image signal inclusive of the visual content and the visual verification code signal may be generated, where the visual image signal includes the visual verification code signal so as to be visible to a human eye when displayed. The visual image signal may be displayed.

1 . A method for producing a visual image signal for verification of visual content contained in the visual image signal being displayed on an electronic display, said method comprising:
 forming a verification code associated with the visual content;   generating a visual verification code signal representative of the verification code;   generating the visual image signal inclusive of the visual content and the visual verification code signal, the visual image signal including the visual verification code signal so as to be visible to a human eye when displayed; and   displaying the visual image signal.   
     
     
         2 . The method according to  claim 1 , wherein forming the verification code is performed automatically. 
     
     
         3 . The method according to  claim 1 , further comprising applying the visual verification code signal to the visual content signal for simultaneous display. 
     
     
         4 . The method according to  claim 1 , wherein generating the visual image signal includes:
 placing the visual content onto a first video track using video editing software;   placing the visual verification code signal onto a second video track using the video editing software; and   creating the visual image signal inclusive of the visual content and visual verification code signal, the visual verification code signal being in a foreground position with respect to the visual content when displayed on the electronic display.   
     
     
         5 . The method according to  claim 1 , wherein the visual verification code signal is synchronized with a header or starting point of the visual content. 
     
     
         6 . The method according to  claim 1 , wherein generating the visual verification code signal includes repeating data representative of the verification code. 
     
     
         7 . The method according to  claim 6 , wherein generating the visual verification code signal includes repeating the data representative of the verification code in successive different colors. 
     
     
         8 . The method according to  claim 1 , wherein verification code is a content identifier having at least a portion of a name of a data file in which the visual content is stored. 
     
     
         9 . The method according to  claim 8 , wherein the visual verification code signal includes information in addition to the content identifier. 
     
     
         10 . A system for producing a visual image signal for verification of visual content contained in the visual image signal being displayed on an electronic display, said system comprising:
 a storage unit configured to store visual content; and   a processing unit in communication with said storage unit, and configured to execute machine readable instructions, that, when executed by said processing unit, causes said processing unit to:
 read the visual content from the storage unit; 
 display a plurality of video tracks, a first track including the visual content and a second track including a visual verification code signal; 
 in response to a user commanding to form the visual image signal, generate the visual image signal by combining the first and second video tracks to cause the second video track to be in a foreground position with respect to the first video track; and 
 display the visual image signal.

The system according to  claim 10 , wherein when the machine readable instructions are executed by said processing unit, causes said processing unit to generate the visual verification code signal inclusive of data representative of a verification code that includes a content identifier of the visual content. 
     
     
         12 . The system according to  claim 11 , wherein when the machine readable instructions are executed by said processing unit, causes said processing unit to generate the visual verification code signal with repeating verification codes, wherein each successively repeating data representative of the verification code has a different color than the previous data representative of the verification code. 
     
     
         13 . The system according to  claim 11 , wherein when the machine readable instructions are executed by said processing unit, causes said processing unit to generate the visual verification code signal inclusive the content identifier and additional information. 
     
     
         14 . A method for producing a visual image signal for verification of visual content contained in the visual image signal being displayed on an electronic display, said method comprising:
 generating a visual verification code signal representative of a verification code;   generating the visual image signal inclusive of the visual content and the visual verification code signal, the visual image signal includes the visual verification code signal so as to be visible to a human eye when displayed; and   displaying the visual image signal.   
     
     
         15 . The method according to  claim 14 , wherein generating the visual image signal includes:
 placing the visual content onto a first video track using video editing software;   placing visual verification code signal onto a second video track using the video editing software; and   causing the visual verification code signal on the second video track to be displayed in a foreground position with respect to the visual content.   
     
     
         16 . The method according to  claim 14 , further comprising generating the verification code inclusive of a content identifier. 
     
     
         17 . The method according to  claim 16 , wherein generating the visual verification code signal includes repeating data representative of the verification code. 
     
     
         18 . The method according to  claim 17 , wherein generating the visual verification code signal includes repeating the data representative of the verification code in successive different colors. 
     
     
         19 . The method according to  claim 16 , wherein the content identifier is an identifier of a product being displayed in the visual content. 
     
     
         20 . The method according to  claim 16 , wherein the verification code includes the content identifier and additional information.
