Abstract

An applicator for a cosmetic product comprising a handle and an application nozzle, including at least one applicator support and a thumb wheel, defining an application roller which is movable in rotation with respect to said applicator support, said thumb wheel interiorly comprising a rigid core and on at least a part of its exterior surface, a transfer material or a material for temporarily holding said cosmetic product, including a circular application surface of average thickness E, adapted to deposit said product with a line of constant width during the application, said circular application surface corresponding to the larger diameter D of said thumb wheel, the thumb wheel having a shaping factor D/E>5. The applicator provides convenient application and leads to a different aspect of the product that is applied.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . An applicator for a cosmetic product, comprising:
an axially directed handle having a first end and a second end; at least one applicator support; and a thumb wheel, wherein the at least one applicator support and the thumb wheel are configured to rotatably operate with each other to constitute a hub-axle assembly with a rotation axis, wherein the thumb wheel includes:
 an interior rigid core and
a transfer material positioned on at least a portion of the exterior surface of the rigid core, wherein the transfer material is configured to hold the cosmetic product,
wherein the applicator is configured so that a manual displacement of the applicator results in a rotation of the thumb wheel and a transfer of the product that is present on the thumb wheel on a part of a human body, wherein the thumb wheel comprises an application surface which is configured to deposit the cosmetic product with a line of constant width during the application, wherein the entire application surface is exposed.

2 . The applicator according to claim 1 , in which the thumb wheel comprises the hub and said applicator support comprises the axle.

3 . The applicator according to claim 2 , in which said axle operates jointly with said hub at the two axial ends of said hub, the axle comprising a pair of opposite studs.

4 . The applicator according to claim 1 , in which said thumb wheel comprises the axle and said applicator support comprises the hub.

5 . The applicator according to claim 1 , in which the transfer material is at least one of: an alveolar material of the foam type, a fibrous material, including a felt, a weaved or non weaved material, and a layer of elastomer.

6 . The applicator according to claim 1 , wherein the thumb wheel has a set of ridges and hollows of the groove and rib type formed on the transfer material, wherein said grooves and ribs are parallel to one another, and configured to be at least one of: spirally shaped, diamond shaped, helically shaped, or of a cylindrical, concave, convex or conical profile.

7 . The applicator according to claim 1 , wherein the handle constitutes a grip with a swaging portion, configured to improve the ergonomics of the handle.

8 . The applicator according to claim 1 , wherein the handle is made of plastic, wood or metal.

9 . The applicator according to claim 1 , wherein the rotation axis defines a first angle with respect to a longitudinal axis of the axially directed handle, the first angle being 0° in a manner that the axis of rotation of said thumb wheel is parallel to the longitudinal axis.

10 . The applicator according to claim 1 , wherein the applicator support and the thumb wheel are axially connected through a reversible joint operation, in a manner configured to form a combination comprising the handle fixed to the applicator support or a series of interchangeable thumb wheels.

11 . The applicator according to claim 1 , wherein the thumb wheel operates jointly with the applicator support by snapping.

12 . The applicator according to claim 1 , wherein the application surface has an average thickness E configured to deposit the cosmetic product with a line of constant width during the application.

13 . The applicator according to claim 12 , wherein the application surface corresponds to a larger diameter D of said thumb wheel and the thumb wheel has a shape factor D/E>5.

14 . An applicator for a cosmetic product, comprising:
an axially directed handle having a first end and a second end; at least one applicator support; and a thumb wheel, wherein the at least one applicator support and the thumb wheel are configured to rotatably operate with each other to constitute a hub-axle assembly with a rotation axis, wherein the thumb wheel includes:
 an interior rigid core and
a transfer material positioned on at least a portion of the exterior surface of the rigid core, wherein the transfer material is configured to hold the cosmetic product,
wherein the applicator is configured so that a manual displacement of the applicator results in a rotation of the thumb wheel and a transfer of the product that is present on the thumb wheel on a part of a human body, wherein the thumb wheel comprises an application surface which is configured to deposit the cosmetic product, wherein the rotation axis of the thumb wheel is aligned with a longitudinal axis of the axially directed handle that extends through a center of the axially directed handle.

15 . An applicator for a cosmetic product, comprising:
an axially directed handle having a first end and a second end; at least one applicator support; and a thumb wheel, wherein the at least one applicator support and the thumb wheel are configured to rotatably operate with each other to constitute a hub-axle assembly with a rotation axis, wherein the thumb wheel includes:
 an interior rigid core and
a transfer material positioned on at least a portion of the exterior surface of the rigid core, wherein the transfer material is configured to hold the cosmetic product,
wherein the applicator is configured so that a manual displacement of the applicator results in a rotation of the thumb wheel and a transfer of the product that is present on the thumb wheel on a part of a human body, wherein the thumb wheel comprises an application surface which is configured to deposit the cosmetic product, wherein the thumb wheel form a disc positioned such that a diameter of the disc extends perpendicularly to a longitudinal axis of the axially directed handle and forms an end of the applicator which is furthest from the second end of the handle.
