Abstract

Dyestuff of plant origin is obtained from a colored part of a plant species, the cell tissues of which contain iridisomes responsible for the coloration of said part. Most particularly, a blue dyestuff is obtained from the arils of the seeds of the plant species Ravenala madagascariensis . Compositions, in particular cosmetic compositions, are especially intended for making up the skin or superficial body growths, containing said dyestuff.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
. A dyestuff of plant origin is obtained from a colored part of a plant species, the cell tissues of which contain iridisomes responsible for the coloration of said part.

. The dyestuff according to claim 1 , wherein the dyestuff is obtained by a method according to which said part of a plant species is subjected to a step during which the plant cells included in said cell tissues containing said iridisomes are at least partially decompartmentalized in the presence of a liquid medium, so as to release a colored product and to entrain the colored product by said liquid medium.

. The dyestuff according to claim 2 , wherein the at least partial decompartmentalization of the plant cells is carried out by means of at least one external energy source, or under the effect of ultrasound, in the presence of a liquid medium.

. The dyestuff according to claim 2 , wherein said method also comprises a filtration step intended to free the product of at least a part of the cellulose-based residues.

. The dyestuff according to claim 1 , wherein said plant species is chosen from the group consisting of plant species of the family Strelitziaceae, the plant species Ravenala madagascariensis , plant species of the family Elaeocarpaceae, Elaeocarpus angustifolius Blume, plant species of the family Arraliaceae, the plant species Delarbrea michieana , plant species of the family Marattiaceae, the plant species Danaea nodosa , plant species of the family Hymenophyllaceae, the plant species Trichomanes elegans , plant species chosen from among those of the Selaginella genus, Selaginella willdenowii , plant species of the family Athyriaceae, the plant species Diplazium tomentosum , plant species of the family Lindsaeaceae, the plant species Lindsaea lucida , plant species of the family Begoniaceae, the plant species Begonia pavonina , plant species of the family Melastolataceae, and the plant species Phyllagathis rotundifolia.

. The dyestuff according to claim 5 , wherein said colored part of said plant species contains a waxy material.

. The dyestuff according to claim 5 , wherein the dyestuff is obtained from the arils of the seeds of the plant species Ravenala madagascariensis.

. The dyestuff according to claim 6 , wherein the dyestuff is obtained by a method according to which said colored part is subjected to a step during which the plant cells included in the cell tissues containing the iridisomes are at least partially decompartmentalized by means of at least one external energy source; or under the effect of ultrasound, in the presence of a liquid medium chosen so as to entrain said waxy material, in the form of a colored product.

. The dyestuff according to claim 8 , wherein said liquid medium is a solvent for said waxy material.

. The dyestuff according to claim 9 , wherein said solvent is acetone.

. The dyestuff according to claim 9 , wherein said method comprises a step of precipitation of said colored product by cooling of said liquid medium.

. The dyestuff according to claim 8 , wherein said liquid medium is an alkaline aqueous medium which enables the liquid medium to saponify said waxy material, to recover a colored basic solution containing said waxy material in saponified form and also the colored structures.

. The dyestuff according to claim 12 , wherein said method also comprises a step of washing said colored basic solution with an acidic solution, so as to cause said waxy material to flocculate.

. The dyestuff according to claim 1 , wherein said colored part of said plant species can be in a waxy, solid or pasty form.

. The blue-colored dyestuff according to claim 5 , wherein the dyestuff is obtained from the arils of the seeds of the plant species Ravenala madagascariensis.

. A colored composition, in particular a cosmetic composition, wherein the composition contains a dispersion of dyestuff as defined in claim 1 .

. The composition according to claim 16 , wherein the composition is a cosmetic composition intended for making up the skin or superficial body growths.

. The composition according to claim 17 , wherein the composition is a serum, a lotion, an emulsion, a care cream, a hydrogel, a mask, a mascara, a foundation, an eye shadow, an eyeliner, a stick or a patch.

. The composition according to claim 16 , wherein said dyestuff is obtained from the arils of the seeds of Ravenala madagascariensis.

. A process for making up the skin or superficial body growths, in particular the eyelashes, the hair or the nails, wherein the process comprises the application, to at least a part of the skin or superficial body growths, of a composition as defined in claim 16 .
