Method and assembly for creating a document

Abstract

In a method for data transfer, an identifier for identifying an image generation device is associated with the image generation device. An authorization information is associated with the image generation device. The authorization information associated with the identifier is stored in a data bank. The transfer of data from a data source by at least one of the image generation device and a data processing system connected with the image generation device is requested. Before the transfer of the data, the authorization information associated with the image generation device is determined and read out with aid of the identifier of the image generation device. The data from the data source is only transferred to the image generation device or to the data processing unit when the transfer of the data is permitted via the read-out authorization information. Also, a method is provided in which a device with a printing function and at least one right to procure a further product is distributed in a bundle. The further product comprises at least one of a software product as well as updates of the software product, at least one print product, a loose sheet compilation, serial works in electronic or printed form, and a trial subscription to use a databank or to provide information stored in databank.

1 . A method for data transfer, comprising the steps of:
 associating an identifier for identification of an image generation device with the image generation device;   associating an authorization information with the image generation device;   storing the authorization information associated with the identifier in a databank;   requesting the transfer of data from a data source by at least one of the image generation device and a data processing system connected with the image generation device;   before the transfer of the data, determining and reading out the authorization information associated with the image generation device with aid of the identifier of the image generation device; and   only transferring the data from the data source to the image generation device or to the data processing unit when the transfer of the data is permitted via the read-out authorization information.   
     
     
         2 . A method according to  claim 1  wherein after the transfer of the data the authorization information is changed to the effect that the transfer of the same data to at least one of the image generation device and the data processing system connected with the image generation device is not possible. 
     
     
         3 . A method according to  claim 1  wherein a time limit of the transfer of the data is determined with aid of the authorization information. 
     
     
         4 . A method according to  claim 1  wherein the authorization information of the identifier is recorded and stored before the delivery of the image generation device to an end customer. 
     
     
         5 . A method according to  claim 1  wherein the data to be transferred serve to release at least one of:
 a software delivered with the image generation device; 
 a blocked function of the image generation device; 
 an updated firmware or application software of the image generation device; and 
 data for printing of a print product with aid of an image generation device. 
 
     
     
         6 . A method according to  claim 1  wherein the data are transferred via a network connection. 
     
     
         7 . A method according to  claim 1  wherein data for generation of different print products are transferred given a request of the data at various points in time, whereby a subscription of a plurality of editions of the print product is provided. 
     
     
         8 . A method according to  claim 1  wherein a product independent of the image generation device is provided with aid of the transferred data. 
     
     
         9 . A method in which a device with a printing function and at least one right to procure a further product is distributed in a bundle, the further product comprising at least one of a software product as well as updates of the software product, at least one print product, a loose sheet compilation, serial works in electronic or printed form, and a trial subscription to use a databank or to provide information stored in a databank. 
     
     
         10 . A method according to  claim 9  wherein at least one of an access code, an activation code, a request code, and an identifier individualizing the device is delivered with the device and via which an authorization to procure the further product is checked. 
     
     
         11 . A method according to  claim 9  wherein a data connection to a data processing system of a publisher is established with aid of the device or with aid of a data processing system connected with this device, said publisher providing with aid of the data processing system at least one of data regarding usage of the product, data for provision of at least one software as well as data for activation of the software, and data for releasing an output of the document.
