Brewed Beverage Maker

Abstract

A beverage maker including a housing, a lid, a brew chamber, and a removable dispensing assembly. The lid rotates to selectively permit access to the brew chamber, which is enclosed by the housing. The dispensing assembly includes a brewed beverage reservoir, dispensing channel, and dispensing outlet. The dispensing outlet and channel extend outwardly from the brewed beverage reservoir and the front face of the beverage maker. In use, the beverage maker dispenses coffee to a brewed beverage receptacle, such as a travel mug, coffee cup or the like.

1 . A beverage maker operable to infuse a liquid with an infusible material in order to create a brewed beverage, the beverage maker comprising:
 a housing including a front face, rear face, top, and opposing sides;   a lid, the lid being selectively actuatable to open and close the top of the housing, the lid further comprising a tab projecting from the lid;   a brew chamber enclosed by the housing and lid, the brew chamber comprising a brew basket and a rotatable showerhead, the brew basket further comprising a filter and loose infusible material;   an axis of rotation about which the lid rotates between an open position and a closed position, the lid tab physically engages the showerhead so that the rotation of the lid to the closed position effects a rotation force to the showerhead;   a removable dispensing assembly, the dispensing assembly including a brewed beverage reservoir, a dispensing channel, and an open dispensing outlet; and   wherein the brewed beverage enters the brewed beverage reservoir via the brew basket, the brewed beverage exiting the brewed beverage reservoir via the dispensing channel and dispensing outlet.   
     
     
         2 . The beverage maker of  claim 1 , the dispensing channel extending outwardly from a portion of the front face of the housing. 
     
     
         3 . The beverage maker of  claim 1 , the dispensing channel extending outwardly from the brewed beverage reservoir. 
     
     
         4 . The beverage maker of  claim 1 , the dispensing channel extending outwardly from a portion of the front face of the housing and the brewed beverage reservoir. 
     
     
         5 . The beverage maker of  claim 1 , the housing further comprising a recess shaped and dimensioned to nestably receive the removable dispensing assembly, the removable dispensing assembly being selectively removable from the recess. 
     
     
         6 . The beverage maker of  claim 1 , the dispensing channel extending at least partially laterally from the brewed beverage reservoir to the open dispensing outlet. 
     
     
         7 . A beverage maker operable to infuse a liquid with an infusible material in order to create a brewed beverage, the beverage maker comprising:
 a housing including a front face,   an aperture, the aperture providing access to a hollow space within the housing,   a lid rotatable to selectively close the aperture, the lid including a tab projecting from the lid;   a brew chamber enclosed by the housing and lid, the brew chamber comprising a showerhead and a brew basket, the brew basket comprising a filter and loose infusible material;   a removable dispensing assembly, the dispensing assembly including a brewed beverage reservoir, a dispensing channel, and an open dispensing outlet, the dispensing outlet fluidly connected to the brewed beverage reservoir via the dispensing channel, the dispensing outlet located to the exterior of the brewed beverage reservoir and positioned beyond a portion of the housing's front face.   
     
     
         8 . The beverage maker of  claim 7 , the lid comprising a top panel;
 an axis of rotation about which the lid rotates between an open position and a closed position; and   wherein the lid tab physically engages the showerhead so that the rotation of the lid to the closed position effects the rotation of the showerhead.   
     
     
         9 . The beverage maker of  claim 7 , the beverage maker further comprising a recess defined by the housing, the recess located beneath the brew chamber. 
     
     
         10 . The beverage maker of  claim 7 , the beverage maker further comprising a recess defined by the housing when the lid is in the closed position. 
     
     
         11 . The beverage maker of  claim 7 , the dispensing channel extending at least partially laterally from the brewed beverage reservoir to the open dispensing outlet. 
     
     
         12 . A beverage maker operable to infuse a liquid with an infusible material in order to create a brewed beverage, the beverage maker comprising:
 a housing enclosing a space and including a front face,   a brew chamber enclosed by the housing, the brew chamber including a removable brew basket and rotatable showerhead, the brew basket comprising a filter and loose infusible material;   a recess defined by the housing;   a removable dispensing assembly, the dispensing assembly including a brewed beverage reservoir, a dispensing channel, and an open dispensing outlet, the dispensing channel and outlet extending outwardly away from a portion of the front face, the dispensing assembly removable from the beverage maker without otherwise disassembling the dispensing assembly or beverage maker; and   wherein the removable brew basket is independently removable from the beverage maker relative to the removable dispensing assembly.   
     
     
         13 . The beverage maker of  claim 12 , further comprising a brewed beverage receptacle receiving a brewed beverage from the beverage maker, the brewed beverage receptacle positioned beneath the dispensing channel and dispensing outlet. 
     
     
         14 . The beverage maker of  claim 12 , the beverage maker further comprising a first aperture in the housing, the first aperture providing access to the brew chamber;
 a lid, the lid being selectively actuatable to open and close the first aperture;   an axis of rotation about which the lid rotates between an open position and a closed position; and   wherein the lid physically engages the showerhead so that the rotation of the lid to the closed position effects a rotation force to the showerhead.   
     
     
         15 . The beverage maker of  claim 12 , the removable dispensing assembly selectively insertable into and removable from the recess defined by the housing; and
 a brewed beverage receptacle receiving a brewed beverage from the dispensing assembly.   
     
     
         16 . The beverage maker of  claim 12 , the dispensing channel extending at least partially laterally from the brewed beverage reservoir to the open dispensing outlet.
