Abstract

The invention relates to a method for producing flat products of steel from continuously cast slabs having a large or medium thickness or from thin bars, which are compressed and subsequently run through a blooming train and a finishing train. The invention is characterized in that the flat products are descaled on their strip edges prior to compression. The method is carried out in a rolling train which comprises at least a first compression device ( 1 ), a blooming train and a finishing train. The rolling train is characterized in that a first descaling device ( 2 ) for descaling the strip edges of the flat products is arranged upstream of the first compression device ( 1 ).

         9 . A method for producing flat steel products from continuously cast slabs of large or medium thickness or from thin slabs, comprising the steps of: edging the products with an edging installation; passing the products through a blooming train; passing the products through a finishing train; and descaling strip edges of the flat products, before being subjected to the edging operation, by a fluid under high pressure, including spraying the fluid at both strip edges from several nozzles directed at each of the strip edges, wherein the nozzles are mounted on guide plates of lateral guides of the rolling train, on ends of the lateral guides that face the edging installation, and are adjustable in width together with the guide plates. 
     
     
         10 . The method in accordance with  claim 9 , wherein the fluid under high pressure is at least one high-pressure water jet. 
     
     
         11 . The method in accordance with  claim 9 , including subjecting the flat products to an additional descaling of the edges of the strip after passing through the blooming train and before passing through the finishing train. 
     
     
         12 . The method in accordance with  claim 10 , including directing the at least one high-pressure water jet at the flat products at an angle of 60-90° relative to a lateral surface of the flat products. 
     
     
         13 . The method in accordance with  claim 12 , including directing the at least one high-pressure water jet at the flat products at an angle of 75° relative to a lateral surface of the flat products. 
     
     
         14 . A rolling train for producing flat steel products from continuously cast slabs of large or medium thickness or from thin slabs, comprising: a first edging installation; a blooming train; a finishing train; and, a first descaling installation for descaling strip edges of the flat products, the first descaling installation being arranged upstream of the first edging installation. 
     
     
         15 . The rolling train in accordance with  claim 14 , further comprising a second edging installation upstream of the finishing train, and a second descaling installation arranged upstream of the second edging installation for descaling the strip edges of the flat products. 
     
     
         16 . The rolling train in accordance with  claim 15 , wherein the first descaling installation includes several nozzles directed at each of the two strip edges of the flat products, and the second descaling installation has at least one nozzle directed at each of the two strip edges of the flat products, from which a high-pressure fluid can be sprayed at the strip edges. 
     
     
         17 . The rolling train in accordance with  claim 16 , wherein the first descaling installation includes three nozzles directed at each strip edge, 
     
     
         18 . The rolling train in accordance with  claim 16 , and further comprising later guides, wherein the nozzles are mounted on ends of the lateral guides that face the edging installation, and are adjustable in width together with the lateral guides. 
     
     
         19 . The rolling train in accordance with  claim 18 , wherein the lateral guides have guide plates, the nozzles being mounted on the guide plates. 
     
     
         20 . The rolling train in accordance with  claim 18 , wherein the nozzles are arranged to spray the fluid onto the flat products at an angle of 60-90° relative to the lateral surface of the flat products. 
     
     
         21 . The rolling train in accordance with  claim 20 , wherein the nozzles are arranged to spray the fluid onto flat products at an angle of 75° relative to the lateral surface of the flat products. 
     
     
         22 . The rolling train in accordance with  claim 16 , wherein the fluid is water.
