Customization of Information Using a Desktop Module
Abstract
To customize information using a desktop module, a page editor application is used to modify information for presentation in a container on a computer, wherein the container facilitates interaction between a plurality of applications associated with a plurality of business units. Configuration information is received to modify the presentation of information. A processor creates a modifiable configuration file according to the configuration information, wherein the modifiable configuration file comprises instructions to present the information in the container on the computer. The processor accesses the modifiable configuration file to facilitate presentation of the information according to the received configuration information.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A method for customization using a desktop module, comprising:
facilitating use of a page editor application to modify information for presentation in a container on a computer, wherein the container facilitates interaction between a plurality of applications associated with a plurality of business units; receiving configuration information to modify the presentation of information; creating, by a processor, a modifiable configuration file according to the configuration information, wherein the modifiable configuration file comprises instructions to present the information in the container on the computer; accessing, by the processor, the modifiable configuration file to facilitate presentation of the information according to the received configuration information.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the modifiable configuration file comprises eXtensible Markup Language (XML) code, and further comprising manipulating the XML code to modify the information for presentation on the computer.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein receiving configuration information to modify the presentation of information comprises receiving configuration information to modify the container presented on the computer.
4 . The method of claim 3 , wherein the configuration information to modify the container comprises information to configure a format of the container.
5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein receiving configuration information to modify the presentation of information comprises receiving configuration information to modify an application included within the container.
6 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising receiving configuration information associated with of a plurality of users in the business unit, wherein the modifiable configuration file comprises the entitlements associated with the plurality of users.
7 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising communicating the configuration file to a framework associated with the business unit.
8 . A non-transitory computer readable medium comprising logic for customization using a desktop module, the logic, when executed by a processor, operable to:
facilitate use of a page editor application to modify information for presentation in a container on a computer, wherein the container facilitates interaction between a plurality of applications associated with a plurality of business units; receive configuration information to modify the presentation of information; create a modifiable configuration file according to the configuration information, wherein the modifiable configuration file comprises instructions to present the information in the container on the computer; access the modifiable configuration file to facilitate presentation of the information according to the received configuration information.
9 . The medium of claim 8 , wherein the modifiable configuration file comprises eXtensible Markup Language (XML) code, and further comprising manipulating the XML code to modify the information for presentation on the computer.
10 . The medium of claim 8 , wherein receiving configuration information to modify the presentation of information comprises receiving configuration information to modify the container presented on the computer.
11 . The medium of claim 10 , wherein the configuration information to modify the container comprises information to configure a format of the container.
12 . The medium of claim 8 , wherein receiving configuration information to modify the presentation of information comprises receiving configuration information to modify an application included within the container.
13 . The medium of claim 8 , further operable to receive configuration information associated with of a plurality of users in the business unit, wherein the modifiable configuration file comprises the entitlements associated with the plurality of users.
14 . The medium of claim 8 , further operable to communicate the configuration file to a framework associated with the business unit.
15 . A desktop module for customization, comprising:
a processor operable to facilitate use of a page editor application to modify information for presentation in a container on a computer, wherein the container facilitates interaction between a plurality of applications associated with a plurality of business units; an interface operable to receive configuration information to modify the presentation of information; wherein the processor is further operable to:
create a modifiable configuration file according to the configuration information, wherein the modifiable configuration file comprises instructions to present the information in the container on the computer;
access the modifiable configuration file to facilitate presentation of the information according to the received configuration information.
16 . The module of claim 15 , wherein the modifiable configuration file comprises eXtensible Markup Language (XML) code, and the processor is further operable to manipulate the XML code to modify the information for presentation on the computer.
17 . The module of claim 15 , wherein the interface is further operable to receive configuration information to modify the container presented on the computer.
18 . The module of claim 15 , wherein the interface is further operable to receive configuration information to modify an application included within the container.
19 . The module of claim 15 , wherein the interface is further operable to receive configuration information associated with of a plurality of users in the business unit, and the modifiable configuration file comprises the entitlements associated with the plurality of users.
20 . The module of claim 15 , wherein the interface is further operable to communicate the configuration file to a framework associated with the business unit.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
