Abstract
An adjustable orthostatic intolerance garment formed of a knitted spandex powernet construction in order to provide compression when on the leg, and including legs and a torso portion that extends upwardly into the abdominal area below the pectoral muscles; and a respective pair of elongate panels that are retained in place by attaching elements, and that are introduced into or removed from the garment to increase or reduce compression on the wearer's body as desired.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A garment comprising:
two leg portions and a torso portion, the torso portion extending upwardly into the abdominal area below the pectoral muscles; and a respective pair of elongate panels that are retained in place by attaching elements, and that are introduced into or removed from the garment to increase or reduce compression on the wearer's body as desired; wherein the garment is formed of a knitted spandex powernet construction in order to form an adjustable orthostatic intolerance garment to provide compression when on the leg.
2 . The garment of claim 1 , wherein the knitted spandex powernet construction is arranged to apply a continuous pressure gradient to a wearer of the garment.
3 . The garment of claim 2 , wherein the continuous pressure gradient is highest at an ankle of the wearer and decreases proximally upwards of the ankle.
4 . The garment of claim 2 , wherein each leg portions has a non-standard compression profile.
5 . The garment of claim 4 , wherein the compression profile of each leg portion includes a pressure of approximately 55 mmHg at a wearer's ankle and a pressure of approximately 23 mmHg at a wearer's thigh.
6 . The garment of claim 1 , wherein the attaching elements comprise flaps adapted to removably secure the respective panels in place.
7 . The garment of claim 6 , wherein the flaps are adapted to removably secure the respective panels in place via zippers attached to the flaps.
8 . The garment of claim 1 , wherein the garment is adapted to allow approximately ±2 mmHg to a wearer's body during use.
9 . The garment of claim 1 , wherein the torso portion includes a double wall abdominal panel extending from a wearer's pubis to an upper portion of the torso portion.
10 . The garment of claim 1 , further comprising at least one elastic band attached around respective upper portions of the leg portions and a lower portion of the torso portion.Cited by (0)
