Abstract

Use of a compound having the formula (I) in the manufacture of a medicament for the prevention or treatment of a diseased caused by oral bacterial in an animal Formula (I); wherein R 1 is a straight or branched alkyl group containing 8 to 16 carbon atoms at the 2- or 3-position of the morpholino ring, and R 2 is a straight or branched alkyl group containing 2 to 10 carbon atoms, substituted with a hydroxyl group except in the alpha-position, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.

1 . An animal chew comprising a compound of formula (I): 
       
         
           
           
               
               
           
         
       
       wherein R 1  is a straight or branched alkyl group containing 8 to 16 carbon atoms at the 2- or 3-position of the morpholino ring, and R 2  is a straight or branched alkyl group containing 2 to 10 carbon atoms, substituted with a hydroxy group except in the alpha-position, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. 
     
     
         2 . The animal chew according to  claim 1 , wherein the compound is infused into the chew. 
     
     
         3 . The animal chew according to  claim 1 , wherein the chew comprises animal hide. 
     
     
         4 . The animal chew according to  claim 1 , wherein the chew comprises a man-made material. 
     
     
         5 . The animal chew according to  claim 1 , comprising at least one flavouring. 
     
     
         6 . The animal chew according to  claim 1 , designed for use by dogs. 
     
     
         7 . An animal foodstuff comprising a compound according to formula (I): 
       
         
           
           
               
               
           
         
         wherein R 1  is a straight or branched alkyl group containing 8 to 16 carbon atoms at the 2- or 3-position of the morpholino ring, and R 2  is a straight or branched alkyl group containing 2 to 10 carbon atoms, substituted with a hydroxy group except in the alpha-position, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. 
       
     
     
         8 . The animal foodstuff according to  claim 7 , wherein the foodstuff is a biscuit.
