Rivet gun with an improved actuation structure
Abstract
A rivet gun for driving a rivet consisting of a smooth cylindrical shaft with a head on one end is disclosed to include a gun body having a beam barrel matching portion, a displacement control device matching portion, a linking device limiter and a rivet holder, a riveting mechanism having a beam barrel with a driven portion mounted in and axially movable along the beam barrel matching portion and a rivet seizing unit adapted for catching the cylindrical shaft of the rivet, a driving mechanism having a displacement control device mounted in and axially movable along the displacement control device matching portion of the gun body, and a linking device having a coupling portion located on the middle part thereof and coupled to the linking device limiter of the gun body, a driving portion located on one end thereof and connected to the driven portion of the beam barrel and a pivot located on the opposite end thereof and coupled to and movable by the displacement control device of the driving mechanism.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A rivet gun for driving a rivet consisting of a smooth cylindrical shaft with a head on one end, the rivet gun comprising:
a gun body, said gun body comprising a beam barrel matching portion, a displacement control device matching portion, a linking device limiter and a rivet holder for holding said rivet for setting; a riveting mechanism, said riveting mechanism comprising a beam barrel mounted in and axially movable along said beam barrel matching portion of said gun body and having a driven portion, and a rivet seizing unit adapted for catching the cylindrical shaft of said rivet; a driving mechanism, said driving mechanism comprising a displacement control device mounted in and movable along said displacement control device matching portion of said gun body; and a linking device, said linking device comprising a coupling portion located on a middle part thereof and coupled to said linking device limiter of said gun body, a driving portion located on one end thereof and mounted to said driven portion of said beam barrel and a pivot located on an opposite end thereof and coupled to and movable by said displacement control device of said driving mechanism.
2 . The rivet gun as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said linking device limiter of said gun body is a pivot rod; the coupling portion of said linking device is a sliding slot coupled to said linking device limiter for allowing movement of said inking device relative to said gun body within a limited range.
3 . The rivet gun as claimed in claim 2 , wherein said sliding slot of said coupling portion of said linking device is smoothly arched.
4 . The rivet gun as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said riveting mechanism further comprises an end block member connected to a rear side of said beam barrel for delivering the broken part of the cylindrical shaft of said rivet when said rivet is set in an object.
5 . The rivet gun as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the center of said linking device limiter of said gun body and the center of said pivot of said linking device define a first arm of force; the center of said linking device limiter of said gun body and the center of the driving portion of said linking device define a second arm of force;
said first arm of force increases gradually and said second arm of force decreases gradually during a riveting operation of the rivet gun.
6 . The rivet gun as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said driving mechanism further comprises a screw member threaded into said displacement control device and rotatable to move said displacement control device.
7 . The rivet gun as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the moving path of said displacement control device of said driving mechanism is a linear path or arc path.
8 . The rivet gun as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said linking device is further moved relative to said gun body when biased.
9 . The rivet gun as claimed in claim 1 , further comprising a rivet shank collector arranged at a rear side of said riveting mechanism for collecting the broken part of the cylindrical shaft of said rivet when said rivet is set in an object.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
