Abstract

A projector has a storage unit storing data on a plurality of different light emission patterns each occurring in a period based on a plurality of different-colored lights, wherein each light emission pattern corresponds to a respective one of a plurality of different projection conditions of a color image. An acquiring unit acquires a present projection condition of the color image, and a controller controls a light emission operation of the plurality of different-colored light emitting elements in the period in accordance with data on a lightemission pattern corresponding to the present projection condition of the color image.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A projector which projects color image in a field sequential color system, the projector comprising:
a light source comprising light emitting elements of three colors; a display unit configured to receive an image signal; and a controller configured to control the light source, when an image signal of one of the three colors is supplied to the display unit, to emit light of the one of the three colors at a full brightness and to emit light of the remaining two of the three colors at a predetermined brightness lower than the full brightness.

2 . The projector according to claim 1 , further comprising:
an acquiring unit configured to acquire a projection condition; wherein the controller is further configured to control the light source based on the projection condition acquired by the acquiring unit.

3 . The projector according to claim 2 , wherein the projection condition acquired by the acquiring unit indicates a luminous intensity of a projection environment.

4 . The projector according to claim 1 , further comprising:
a storage unit configured to store data on different light emission patterns; wherein the controller is further configured to control the light source based on the light emission patterns stored in the storage unit.

5 . The projector according to claim 1 , wherein a period of the field sequential color system consists of three durations corresponding to the three colors, and wherein the display unit receives image signals of the three colors during the three durations, respectively.
