Network interface device

Abstract

A network interface device having a first board to connect with a wired network to provide signal exchange, which is mounted in a network electronic device, a second board to connect with a wireless network to provide signal exchange, and a first and a second link portion provided at the first and the second boards to removably connect the first and the second boards, respectively.

1 . A network printer comprising:
 a printing unit to print an image on a paper medium; and   a network/processor unit including a wired portion to facilitate communication with a wired network, a wireless portion to facilitate communication with a wireless network, and a processing portion to process signals received from the wired network and the wireless network,   wherein a same physical address and a same IP address are allocated to the wired portion and the wireless portion of the network/processor unit such that the network printer uses only one physical address and only one IP address for wired communication and for wireless communication.   
     
     
         2 . The network printer of  claim 1 , wherein when the wired portion and the wireless portion are coupled to provide a signal exchange therebetween, the processing portion allocates the physical address of one of the wired and wireless portions to another one of the portions.
