Abstract
A liquid crystal display device includes alignment regulators that overlap with the first colored layers in reflective display regions within dot regions in which the first colored layers are provided, and the alignment regulators do not overlap with the second colored layers in the reflective display regions within dot regions in which the second colored layers are provided.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A liquid crystal display device comprising:
a pair of substrates; a liquid crystal layer interposed between the pair of substrates, the liquid crystal layer including a liquid crystal having a negative dielectric anisotropy; a plurality of dot regions each having a transmissive display region, and a reflective display region; alignment regulators that are provided between the liquid crystal layer and at least one of the pair of substrates to regulate the alignment of the liquid crystal in the reflective display regions; a liquid-crystal-layer-thickness adjusting layer provided between the liquid crystal layer and at least one of the pair of substrates to provide the liquid crystal layer with a smaller thickness in the reflective display regions than in the transmissive display regions; and a color filter layer provided between the liquid crystal layer and at least one of the pair of substrates, the color filter layer including first colored layers and second colored layers having a color different from a color of the first colored layers, each of which correspond to a respective one of the dot regions; wherein the alignment regulators overlap with the first colored layers in the reflective display regions within dot regions in which the first colored layers are provided, and the alignment regulators do not overlap with the second colored layers in the reflective display regions within dot regions in which the second colored layers are provided.
2 . The liquid crystal display device according to claim 1 , wherein non-colored regions are provided in the reflective display regions within dot regions in which the second colored layers are provided, and the non-colored regions overlap the alignment regulators in plan view.
3 . The liquid crystal display device according to claim 2 , wherein the alignment regulators are arranged entirely inside the non-colored regions in plan view.
4 . The liquid crystal display device according to claim 2 , wherein the non-colored regions are openings formed by cutting out a portion of the second colored layers in the reflective display regions.

The liquid crystal display device according to claim 1 , further comprising electrodes provided in each of the dot regions for driving the liquid crystal layer, each of the electrodes including a plurality of island-shaped portions electrically connected to each other, and the island-shaped portions being arranged in each of the reflective display regions and the transmissive display regions.
6 . An electronic apparatus comprising the liquid crystal display device according to claim 1 .Cited by (0)
