Recording medium, reproducing device, recording method, and reproducing method

Abstract

On a BD-ROM, PlayList information is recorded. The PlayList information includes MainPath information and SubPath information. The MainPath information and SubPath information include connection_condition information and sp_connection_condition information, respectively. The connection_condition information and sp_connection_condition information indicate that, when the connection state between two MainClips referred to with the MainPath information is seamless connection (CC=5), the connection state between two SubClips referred to with the SubPath information is also seamless connection (SP_CC=5). In the case of CC=5 and sp_CC=5, IN_time of PlayItem is equal to IN_time(SubPlayItem_IN_time) of SubPlayItem.

1 . A non-transitory recording medium on which a secondary stream and playlist information are recorded, the playlist information indicating a playback path of a primary stream recorded on another non-transitory recording medium and a playback path of the secondary stream, wherein
 the secondary stream includes additional information to be played back in association with main video information included in the primary stream,   the playlist information
 includes a plurality of playitem information defining a primary playback section of the main video information so that the playlist information indicates the playback path of the primary stream, and 
 includes a plurality of sub-playitem information defining a secondary playback section of the additional information so that the playlist information indicates the playback path of the secondary stream, 
   among the plurality of playitem information, one of two consecutive playitem information is previous playitem information and the other is current playitem information, and among the plurality of sub-playitem information, one of two consecutive sub-playitem information is previous sub-playitem information and the other is current sub-playitem information,   the current playitem information includes:   in_time indicating a playback start time of a primary playback section of the main video information;   out_time indicating a playback end time of the primary playback section of the main video information; and   connection information indicating a connection state at a boundary between the previous playitem information and the current playitem information,   the current sub-playitem information includes:   in_time indicating a playback start time of a secondary playback section of the additional information;   out_time indicating a playback end time of the secondary playback section of the additional information;   a playitem ID specifying one of the playitem information with which the current sub-playitem information is played back in association;   playitem synchronization PTS information indicating the in_time of the current sub-playitem information, on a playback time axis of the current playitem information specified by the playitem ID; and   sub-connection information indicating a connection state at a boundary between the previous sub-playitem information and the current sub-playitem information, and   each of the previous and the current playitem information includes a table,   each table shows at least one combination of main video information in the primary stream and additional information in the secondary stream that are allowed to be played back simultaneously,   each of the connection information and the sub-connection information includes a connection state indicating first seamless playback and a connection state indicating second seamless playback,   in a case the playitem information specified by the playitem ID is the current playitem information, and the connection information indicates the first seamless playback,   the sub-connection information also indicates the first seamless playback,   the playitem synchronization PTS information of the sub_playitem information is equal to the in_time of the current playitem information, the in_time of the current sub-playitem information is equal to the in_time of the current playitem information, and out_time of the previous sub-playitem information is equal to out_time of the previous playtime information,   the table included in the previous playitem information is the same as the table included in the current playitem information, and   in a case the playitem information specified by the playitem ID is the current playitem information, and the sub-connection information indicates the second seamless playback, the previous sub-playitem information and the current sub-playitem information are continuous on an ATC time axis.   
     
     
         2 . The non-transitory recording medium of  claim 1  wherein
 in a case the additional information whose playback section is defined by the current sub-playitem information is video, the video starts with a GOP. 
 
     
     
         3 . The non-transitory recording medium of  claim 1  wherein
 in a case the sub-connection information indicates the first seamless playback, the previous sub-playitem information and the current sub-playitem information are discontinuous on the ATC time axis. 
 
     
     
         4 . A playback apparatus for playing back a primary stream and a secondary stream by reading information from a non-transitory recording medium according to  claim 1  and another non-transitory recording medium on which the primary stream is recorded, the playback apparatus having loaded therein the non-transitory recording medium and the other non-transitory recording medium and comprising:
 a reading unit operable to read the primary and the secondary streams in accordance with playlist information recorded on the non-transitory recording medium; and 
 a playback unit operable to playback main video information included in the primary stream, in association with additional information included in the secondary stream. 
 
     
     
         5 . A recording method for recording information onto a non-transitory recording medium used in association with another non-transitory recording medium on which a primary stream is recorded, the recording method comprising:
 generating application data; and   recording the application data onto the non-transitory recording medium, wherein   the application data includes a secondary stream, and playlist information indicating a playback path of the primary stream and a playback path of a secondary stream,   the secondary stream includes additional information to be played back in association with main video information included in the primary stream,   the playlist information
 includes a plurality of playitem information defining a primary playback section of the main video information so that the playlist information indicates the playback path of the primary stream, and 
 includes a plurality of sub-playitem information defining a secondary playback section of the additional information so that the playlist information indicates the playback path of the secondary stream, 
   among the plurality of playitem information, one of two consecutive playitem information is previous playitem information and the other is current playitem information, and among the plurality of sub-playitem information, one of two consecutive sub-playitem information is previous sub-playitem information and the other is current sub-playitem information,   the current playitem information includes:   in_time indicating a playback start time of a primary playback section of the main video information;   out_time indicating a playback end time of the primary playback section of the main video information; and   connection information indicating a connection state at a boundary between the previous playitem information and the current playitem information,   the current sub-playitem information includes:   in_time indicating a playback start time of a secondary playback section of the additional information;   out_time indicating a playback end time of the secondary playback section of the additional information;   a playitem ID specifying one of the playitem information with which the current sub-playitem information is played back in association;   playitem synchronization PTS information indicating the in_time of the current sub-playitem information, on a playback time axis of the current playitem information specified by the playitem ID; and   sub-connection information indicating a connection state at a boundary between the previous sub-playitem information and the current sub-playitem information, and   each of the previous and the current playitem information includes a table,   each table shows at least one combination of main video information in the primary stream and additional information in the secondary stream that are allowed to be played back simultaneously,   each of the connection information and the sub-connection information includes a connection state indicating first seamless playback and a connection state indicating second seamless playback,   in a case the playitem information specified by the playitem ID is the current playitem information, and the connection information indicates the first seamless playback,   the sub-connection information also indicates the first seamless playback,   the playitem synchronization PTS information of the sub_playitem information is equal to the in_time of the current playitem information, the in_time of the current sub-playitem information is equal to the in_time of the current playitem information, and out_time of the previous sub-playitem information is equal to out_time of the previous playtime information,   the table included in the previous playitem information is the same as the table included in the current playitem information, and   in a case the playitem information specified by the playitem ID is the current playitem information, and the sub-connection information indicates the second seamless playback, the previous sub-playitem information and the current sub-playitem information are continuous on an ATC time axis.
