Method for computerized wagering
Abstract
A system and method for networked exchange are disclosed. A system for networked exchange comprises an internal proxy ( 140 ); an exchange processor ( 120 ) in communication with the internal proxy ( 140 ); a database ( 130 ) in communication with the internal proxy ( 140 ) ; an external proxy ( 150 ) in communication with the internal proxy ( 140 ); and, a communications network ( 110 ) connected to the external proxy. A method for networked exchange comprises 8 steps. Those steps are ( 1 ) specifying a mode of operations for an exchange; ( 2 ) identifying a commodity for the exchange; ( 3 ) listing information about the commodity; ( 4 ) accessing of the listing by a potential purchaser; ( 5 ) accessing the network-based exchange by the potential purchaser, ( 6 ) processing information generated by the potential purchaser, the information comprising a negotiation; ( 7 ) concluding the negotiation; and, ( 8 ) clearing the concluded negotiation.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A method for operating a networked exchange in which a commodity is traded from a seller to a purchaser by an exchange processor, the method comprising:
enabling the seller to identify the commodity for trading within the networked exchange; enabling the seller to specify at least one mode of operation for trading the commodity within the networked exchange; enabling the purchaser to access the networked exchange; processing information representing a negotiation regarding the commodity between the seller and the purchaser that is facilitated by the networked exchange; and determining whether said negotiation between the seller and the purchaser is concluded.
2 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising clearing the negotiation in response to determining that the negotiation is concluded.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein enabling the seller to specify at least one mode of operation includes enabling the seller to specify at least one of:
a start time for trading the commodity; and an end time for trading the commodity.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein enabling the seller to identify the commodity includes enabling the seller to:
classify said commodity; and enter a price for said commodity.
5 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
listing information about the commodity as offered for trade on the networked exchange; and enabling the purchaser to access the listing.
6 . The method of claim 5 , wherein listing the information includes listing a description of the commodity, and listing a bid start price for the commodity.
7 . The method of claim 5 , wherein listing the information includes listing the information on a web page.
8 . The method of claim 5 , wherein listing the information includes sending the information at least to the purchaser.
9 . The method of claim 5 , wherein listing the information includes emailing the information at least to the purchaser.
10 . The method of claim 1 , wherein enabling the purchaser to access the networked exchange includes enabling the purchaser to search for listings pertaining to the commodity.
11 . The method of claim 1 , wherein enabling the purchaser to access the networked exchange includes enabling the purchaser to perform at least one of:
access with the networked exchange using a graphical interface; chat about the commodity; or bid on the commodity.
12 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising providing a graphical interface that includes a scroller.
13 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising providing a graphical interface that includes a dual scroller.
14 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising providing a graphical interface that includes a three-dimensional scroller.
15 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising enabling chat communications between the purchaser and the seller.
16 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising enabling chat communications between the purchaser and at least one other purchaser.
17 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
filtering the information generated by the purchaser; and routing the information generated by the purchaser.Cited by (0)
