Device for handling of rolls
Abstract
A device for handling a number of sleeves, preferably paperboard sleeves, before, during and after rolling up of a paper web on each one thereof, in which a body of a length substantially corresponding to the total length or width of the sleeves is inserted in the sleeves and is expandable for pressing the circumferential surface or wall of the body wholly or partly against the inside of the sleeves and thereafter for holding together the sleeves before and during rolling up of the paper webs on the sleeves and the paper rolls thus realized thereon, characterized in that the body is hose-shaped cylindrical, that the ends of the hose-shaped cylindrical body are sealed with an air seal and at least one end is provided with a valve for supplying a medium for expansion of the body.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A device for handling a number of sleeves, before, during and after rolling up of a paper web on each one thereof, comprising:
a body of a length substantially corresponding to a total length or width of the sleeves is inserted in the sleeves and is expandable for pressing a circumferential surface or wall of the body wholly or partly against a inside of the sleeves and thereafter for holding together the sleeves before and during rolling up of the paper webs on the sleeves and the paper rolls thus realized thereon, wherein the body is hose-shaped cylindrical, the ends of the hose-shaped cylindrical body are sealed with an air seal and at least one end is provided with a valve for supplying a medium for expansion of the body.
2 . The device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the body has a wall which is rigid at least in a longitudinal direction and is expandable at least in a circumferential direction.
3 . The device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the body has rigid sections and interjacent less rigid sections for facilitating insertion of the body into the sleeves.
4 . The device as claimed in claim 3 , wherein the rigid sections and the less rigid sections impart to the body a substantially polygonal configuration.
5 . The device as claimed in claim 3 , wherein the rigid sections are outwardly arched and the less rigid sections are inwardly arched in order, after expansion, to be outwardly arched like the rigid sections.
6 . The device as claimed in claim 4 , wherein the rigid sections are outwardly arched and the less rigid sections are inwardly arched in order, after expansion, to be outwardly arched like the rigid sections.Cited by (0)
