Claims

Abstract

A multilayer film structure comprising at least three layers, wherein at least one layer comprises ethylene and at least one alpha-olefin is claimed, wherein the ethylene interpolymer is characterized as having an average M v and a valley temperature between the interpolymer and high crystalline fraction, T hc , such that the average M v for a fraction above T hc from ATREF divided by average M v of the whole polymer from ATREF (M hc /M hp ) is less then about 1.95 and wherein the interpolymer has a CDBI of less than 60%. The interpolymer of ethylene and at least one alpha-olefin can also be characterized as having a high density (HD) fraction and an overall density such that % HD fraction<0.0168x 2 −29.636x+13036 where x is the density in grams/cubic centimeter.

A multilayer film structure comprising at least three layers, wherein at least one layer comprises an interpolymer of ethylene and at least one alpha-olefin, characterized wherein the interpolymer has an average M v  and a valley temperature between the interpolymer and high crystalline fraction, T hc , such that the average M v  for a fraction above T hc  from ATREF divided by average M v  of the whole polymer from ATREF (M hc /M hp ) is less than about 1.95 and wherein the interpolymer has a CDBI of less than 60%. 
     
     
         2 . The film structure of  claim 1  comprising a core layer and two skin layers, wherein the skin layers comprise the interpolymer, and wherein the core layer comprises LDPE. 
     
     
         3 . The film structure of  claim 2  wherein the LDPE has a melt index of less than 1 g/10 minutes. 
     
     
         4 . The film structure of  claim 2  wherein each skin layer further comprises another thermoplastic polymer. 
     
     
         5 . The film structure of  claim 1  wherein said interpolymer has a CDBI of less than 55%. 
     
     
         6 . The film structure of  claim 1  wherein said interpolymer has a M hc /M hp  of less than about 1.7. 
     
     
         7 . A multilayer film structure comprising at least three layers, wherein at least one layer comprises ethylene and at least one alpha-olefin wherein the interpolymer is characterized as having a high density (HD) fraction and an overall density such that % HD fraction<0.0168x 2 −29.636x+13036 where x is the overall density in grams/cubic centimeter. 
     
     
         8 . The film structure of  claim 7  comprising a core layer and two skin layers, wherein the skin layers comprise the interpolymer, and wherein the core layer comprises the LDPE. 
     
     
         9 . The film structure of  claim 7  wherein the LDPE has a melt index of less than 1 g/10 minutes. 
     
     
         10 . The film structure of  claim 8  wherein each skin layer further comprises another thermoplastic polymer. 
     
     
         11 . The film structure of  claim 7  wherein said interpolymer has a CDBI of less than 55%. 
     
     
         12 . The film structure of  claim 7  wherein said interpolymer has a Mhc/Mhp of less than about 1.7.
