Reusable container

Abstract

A reusable container to transport groceries and the like from the point of purchase which can be closed to a condition for storage in which the container utilizes minimum space to an open position to receive the groceries and the like.

1 . A foldable container for carrying groceries or the like and comprising:
 a center panel;   a plurality of side panels with each of said side panels having an edge joined respectively throughout its length to an edge of said center panel by a living hinge whereby said center panel and said side panels are operable to fold from a flat condition in which each of said side panels is joined to said center panel and said container lies flat to a condition with pairs of side panels folded upwardly away from said center panel to form a container; and   attachment pads provided in at least one of the corners of adjacent side panels and an attaching strap engageable with said attaching pad for releasably attaching adjacent side panels one to the other.   
     
     
         2 . The container as defined in  claim 1  and in which:
 said attachment pad is formed on each side of only one of said adjacent side panels and said strap is attached to said adjacent side panel; and 
 said strap being provided with ends one of which engages with one of said attachment pads and the other end of said strap attaching to the other of said attachment pads. 
 
     
     
         3 . The container as defined in  claim 1  and in which said container is foldable to a position in which said side panels are atop said center panel. 
     
     
         4 . The container as defined in  claim 1  and in which said panels are constructed of a polymer material. 
     
     
         5 . The container as defined in  claim 1  and in which said attaching means comprises hook and loop fasteners attachable to adjacent side panels of said container. 
     
     
         6 . The container as defined in  claim 1  and including indicia on said container for identifying the user of the container and each time the container is used.
