Abstract

A method for delivery of targeted commercial messages. The method comprises assembling a plurality of potential purchaser profiles in an electronic file for presentation to at least one potential advertiser of goods or services applicable to a substantial portion of the plurality of potential purchasers, developing commercial message selection criteria for selecting from the potential purchasers those suited to receive a specified commercial message contained in a set of commercial messages, applying the commercial message selection criteria to the purchaser profiles to identify the potential purchasers suited to receive specified commercial messages, and presenting over a data network to a potential purchaser identified as suited, the specified commercial messages.

1 . A computerized method implemented by processing circuitry executing stored executable instructions, the method comprising:
 assembling purchaser-supplied information from a plurality of potential purchasers;   collecting purchase transactional information for the potential purchasers;   supplementing and identifying discrepancies in the purchaser-supplied information using the purchase transactional information to provide verified information about the plurality of potential purchasers;   creating an electronic database with a plurality of potential purchaser profiles using the verified information; and   applying commercial message selection criteria to the purchaser profiles in the electronic database to identify potential purchasers suited to receive a specified commercial message.   
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1 , further comprising compensating the plurality of potential purchasers for supplying the purchaser-supplied information. 
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 1 , further comprising presenting the group of potential purchasers with a qualified group offer from a seller, wherein a qualified group offer includes a threshold number of potential purchasers required to sign up for the offer in order for the offer to be consummated 
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 1 , further comprising monitoring levels of interest from the potential purchasers in the specified commercial message. 
     
     
         5 . A computerized method implemented by processing circuitry executing stored executable instructions, the method comprising:
 registering users, wherein registering users includes receiving required registration information for the users;   storing the registered users in an electronic database;   aggregating, using the required registration information for the registered users, some of the registered users into a pool of registered users;   receiving a deal offer from a seller for the pool of the registered users; and   presenting the deal offer to the pool of registered users.   
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 5 , further comprising receiving an acceptance from at least one registered user in the pool of registered users to the deal offer received from the seller. 
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 5 , wherein aggregating includes using only the required registration information to aggregate some of the registered users into the pool of registered users, and wherein the deal offer from the seller is based only on the required registration for the users. 
     
     
         8 . The method of  claim 5 , further comprising:
 providing an incentive to the registered users to provide additional information beyond the required registration information; and   receiving the additional information from the registered users,   wherein aggregating includes using the additional information to aggregate some of the registered users into the pool of registered users, and wherein the deal offer from the seller is based on the additional information from the registered users.   
     
     
         9 . The method of  claim 8 , wherein providing an incentive includes providing discount pricing to the registered users who provide the additional information. 
     
     
         10 . The method of  claim 8 , further comprising verifying the additional information received from the registered users to provide verified information, wherein verifying includes:
 collecting information for the registered users from at least one third party database; and   supplementing and identifying discrepancies in the additional information received from the registered users using the information from the at least one third party database.   
     
     
         11 . The method of  claim 8 , wherein aggregating includes using the verified information to aggregate some of the registered users into the pool of registered users, and wherein the deal offer from the seller is based on the verified information. 
     
     
         12 . The method of  claim 5 , further comprising:
 receiving purchase interests from the registered users, wherein the purchase interests are items that the registered users are interested in purchasing; and   creating a profile for each of the registered users, wherein creating the profile includes using the purchase interests to create the profile,   wherein aggregating includes using the profile, created using the purchase interests, to aggregate some of the registered users into the pool of registered users.   
     
     
         13 . The method of  claim 5 , further comprising:
 receiving pooling interests from the registered users, wherein the pooling interests are pools or registered users that the registered users are interested in joining; and   creating a profile for each of the registered users, wherein creating the profile for each of the registered users includes using the pooling interests to create the profile,   wherein aggregating includes using the profile, created using the pooling interests, to aggregate some of the registered users into the pool of registered users.   
     
     
         14 . The method of  claim 5 , further comprising:
 creating a profile for each of the registered users, wherein creating the profile for each of the registered users includes using previous purchase information by the registered user to create the profile,   wherein aggregating includes using the profile, created using the previous purchase information, to aggregate some of the registered users into the pool of registered users.   
     
     
         15 . The method of  claim 5 , wherein receiving the deal offer from the seller for the pool of the registered users includes receiving different payments from different sellers for an opportunity to provide the deal offer to the pool of the registered users. 
     
     
         16 . The method of  claim 5 , further comprising:
 receiving from the pool of registered users a request for the deal offer; and   sending the request for the deal offer to the seller,   wherein receiving the deal offer from the seller includes receiving the requested deal offer from the seller, and presenting the deal offer to the pool of registered users includes presenting the requested deal offer to the pool of registered users.   
     
     
         17 . The method of  claim 5 , wherein receiving the deal offer from the seller for the pool of the registered users includes receiving a contingent deal offer that requires a threshold number of acceptances from registered users in the pool of registered users. 
     
     
         18 . A computerized method implemented by a system that includes processing circuitry executing stored executable instructions, the method comprising:
 receiving consumer data for users of the system;   creating user profiles for the users from the consumer data; and   delivering a commercial message targeted to the users using the user profiles, wherein the commercial message is selected from the group of commercial messages consisting of: an offer; an incentive; and an advertisement.   
     
     
         19 . The method of  claim 18 , further comprising storing a plurality of offers in the system, wherein delivering the commercial message includes delivering one of the plurality of offers stored in the system. 
     
     
         20 . The method of  claim 18 , further comprising storing a plurality of advertisements in the system, wherein delivering the commercial message includes delivering one of the plurality of advertisements stored in the system. 
     
     
         21 . The method of  claim 20 , further comprising providing the users profiles to an advertiser only upon request of the users. 
     
     
         22 . The method of  claim 20 , further comprising filtering the advertisements targeted to the users based on a price paid by an advertiser for the advertisement, wherein higher priced advertisements are presented to the users before lower priced advertisements. 
     
     
         23 . The method of  claim 20 , further comprising receiving selection criteria from the advertiser, and filtering the advertisements targeted to the users based on the selection criteria. 
     
     
         24 . The method of  claim 18 , wherein receiving consumer data includes receiving user-supplied information. 
     
     
         25 . The method of  claim 24 , wherein receiving user-supplied information includes receiving information from the users through a browser-accessible web site. 
     
     
         26 . The method of  claim 25 , wherein receiving consumer data includes receiving required registration information, wherein the required registration information is information for the users to be registered with the web site. 
     
     
         27 . The method of  claim 18 , wherein receiving consumer data includes receiving customer data for customers of a telecommunication system. 
     
     
         28 . The method of  claim 18 , further comprising storing the user profiles in the system. 
     
     
         29 . The method of  claim 18 , wherein the user profiles include demographic information of the users, and delivering a commercial message targeted to the users using the user profiles includes using the demographic information to target the commercial message to the users. 
     
     
         30 . The method of  claim 18 , wherein the user profiles include financial information of hte users, and delivering a commercial message targeted to the users using the user profiles includes using the financial information to target the commercial message to the users. 
     
     
         31 . The method of  claim 18 , wherein delivering targeted advertisements includes delivering the targeted advertisements using cable television, direct broadcast satellite (DBS), Internet, or a wireless telecommunications device. 
     
     
         32 . The method of  claim 18 , further comprising determining compensation owed to the at least one potential purchaser and the at least one potential advertiser. 
     
     
         33 . The method of  claim 32 , further comprising compensating the at least one potential purchaser according to the compensation owed. 
     
     
         34 . The method of  claim 32 , further comprising compensating the at least one potential advertiser according to the compensation owed.
