Abstract
A cup assembly includes a paper cup and a plastic lip is formed on the periphery of the open top of the cup. The lip includes a first spiral portion formed thereon. A cap has a second spiral portion formed on an inside thereof and the second spiral portion is engaged with the first spiral portion. The cap is easily removed from or mounted to the cup without shaking the cup to prevent the coffee or juice in the cup from splitting out.

exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A cup assembly comprising:
a cup made of paper material and a lip formed on a periphery of an open top of the cup, the lip made of plastic material and having a first spiral portion formed thereon, and a cap having a second spiral portion formed on an inside thereof and the second spiral portion engaged with the first spiral portion.
2 . The assembly as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the lip is formed by way of plastic injection.
3 . The assembly as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the lip is post-attached to the cup.
4 . The assembly as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the lip is made of bio-degradable plastic material.
5 . The assembly as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the first and second spiral portions each are composed of multiple sections which are located at equal distances from each other.Cited by (0)
