Pop-up play set
Abstract
A play set, the play set having: a first surface having a central panel section and a pair of side panel sections, each of which is pivotally connected to the central panel section, the pair of side panel sections each being releasably attachable to each other via a latch member that is pivotally secured to one of the pair of side panel sections; and an elevated platform rotatably mounted to the first surface, the elevated platform having a central panel section and a pair of side panel sections, each of which is pivotally connected to the central panel section, wherein the elevated platform is enclosed within the pair of side panel sections of the first surface when the pair of side panel sections are attached to each other via the latch member.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A play set comprising:
a first surface having a central panel section and a pair of side panel sections, each of which is pivotally connected to the central panel section, the pair of side panel sections each being releasably attachable to each other via a latch member that is pivotally secured to one of the pair of side panel sections; and an elevated platform rotatably mounted to the first surface, the elevated platform having a central panel section and a pair of side panel sections, each of which is pivotally connected to the central panel section, wherein the elevated platform is enclosed within the pair of side panel sections of the first surface when the pair of side panel sections are attached to each other via the latch member.
2 . The play set as in claim 1 , wherein the elevated platform is rotatably mounted to the central panel section of the first surface.
3 . The play set as in claim 1 , wherein the elevated platform can be angularly offset from the first surface as it rotates with respect to the first surface.
4 . The play set as in claim 1 , wherein the central panel section of the elevated platform is rotatably mounted above the central panel section of the first surface via a post.
5 . The play set as in claim 1 , further comprising a door member pivotally secured to one of the pair of side panel sections, wherein the door member is configured to engage the other one of the pair of side panel sections when the pair of side panel sections are in a first stowed position and wherein the door member provides access to a receiving area defined by the pair of side panel sections when that are in the first stowed position.
6 . The play set as in claim 5 , wherein the elevated platform is rotatably mounted to the central panel section of the first surface.
7 . The play set as in claim 5 , wherein the central panel section of the elevated platform is rotatably mounted to the central panel section of the first surface via a post.
8 . The play set as in claim 1 , further comprising a plurality of ramps pivotally secured to the elevated platform, wherein the plurality of ramps define a path from the elevated platform to the first surface.
9 . The play set as in claim 8 , wherein one of the plurality of ramps provides a trap door feature in one of the pair of side panel sections of the elevated surface.
10 . The play set as in claim 1 , further comprising a plurality of façade structures pivotally secured to the play set for movement between a first stowed position parallel or adjacent to at least one of one of the pair of side panel sections of the elevated platform and the first surface to a second deployed position wherein the façade structure is in a vertical configuration with respect to the elevated platform and the first surface and wherein at least one of the central panel sections and the pair of side panel sections includes an elongated member extendable therefrom in a telescoping manner to define an additional play surface outside a perimeter defined by the central panel section and the side panel sections.
11 . The play set as in claim 1 , wherein the elevated platform has a vertical structure that remains in its position regardless of the orientation of the pair of side panel sections of the elevated platform and the lower surface.
12 . The play set as in claim 1 , further comprising a launching mechanism with a member for propelling an object over a ramp positioned on the first surface.
13 . The play set as in claim 1 , wherein the latch member has a dimension similar to the central panel section of the first surface.
14 . The play set as in claim 1 , wherein the central panel section of the elevated platform has features that limit the pivotal movement of the pair of side panel sections with respect to the central panel section.
15 . A play set comprising:
a first surface having a central panel section and a pair of side panel sections, each of which is pivotally connected to the central panel section, the pair of side panel sections each being releasably attachable to each other via a latch member that is pivotally secured to one of the pair of side panel sections; and an elevated platform rotatably mounted above the first surface, the elevated platform having a central panel section and a pair of side panel sections, each of which is pivotally connected to the central panel section, wherein central panel section is rotatably secured to a post extending from the central panel section of the first surface and wherein the elevated platform is enclosed within the pair of side panel sections of the first surface when the pair of side panel sections are attached to each other via the latch member.
16 . The play set as in claim 15 , wherein the elevated platform and the first surface are generally rectangular in shape and wherein the central panel section of the elevated platform has features that limit the pivotal movement of the pair of side panel sections with respect to the central panel section.
17 . The play set as in claim 15 , further comprising a plurality of ramps pivotally secured to the elevated platform, wherein the plurality of ramps define a path from the elevated platform to the first surface.
18 . The play set as in claim 17 , wherein one of the plurality of ramps provides a trap door feature in one of the pair of side panel sections of the elevated surface.
19 . The play set as in claim 15 , further comprising a launching mechanism with a member for propelling an object over a ramp positioned on the first surface.
20 . A play set comprising:
a first surface having a central panel section and a pair of side panel sections, each of which is pivotally connected to the central panel section, the pair of side panel sections each being releasably attachable to each other via a latch member that is pivotally secured to one of the pair of side panel sections; and a second surface movably mounted to the first surface, the second surface being configured to extend beyond a perimeter defined by the first surface when the first surface is in a deployed configuration.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
