Abstract

According to the various features characteristics and embodiments of the present invention which will become apparent as the description thereof proceeds, the present invention provides partial hand covers and the use of said covers, intended to increase the overall performance in sports activities. More specifically, the present invention offers strategic openings in select areas of the palm, creating substantial and significant advantages for the user, in playing the sports of football, golf and basketball.

1 . A basketball glove comprising:
 a. A partial palmless glove,   b. Said partial palmless glove having an opening substantially in the middle of the palm,   c. Said opening having a length of up to two inches   d. Said opening having a width of up to two inches   
     
     
         2 . The glove, as claimed in  claim 1 , wherein:
 a. said opening has a length of up to 1.5 inches   b. said opening has a width of up to 1.5 inches   
     
     
         3 . The glove, as claimed in  claim 1 , wherein said opening has a radius of up to 1 inch. 
     
     
         4 . The glove, as claimed in  claim 1 , wherein:
 a. Said opening can extend out to part of the Thenar,   b. Said opening can extend out to part of the Distal Palmar crease,   c. Said opening can extend out to the Hypothenar crease,   d. Said opening can follow and leave open the palmar lifeline crease   
     
     
         5 . The glove, as claimed in  claim 1 , further comprising a grip enhancing means, thereby allowing a user to better control a basketball 
     
     
         6 . A method of shooting a basketball comprising the following steps:
 a. providing a basketball glove comprising: A partial palmless glove, said partial palmless glove having an opening substantially in the middle of the palm, said opening having a length of up to two inches, said opening having a width of up to two inches,   b. placing the glove onto the shooting hand of a user,   c. gripping a basketball using the preferred shooting grip,   d. shooting said basketball toward a basketball basket,   e. determining if the basketball was shot while maintaining proper shooting form by noticing if said basketball touched the skin of the palm opening of the basketball glove.   
     
     
         7 . Use of the glove, in accordance with the claim in  claim 1 , wherein said glove is used in playing the sport of basketball 
     
     
         8 . A multisport means comprising:
 a. a partial palmless glove,   b. said partial palmless glove having an opening that extends across the palm area,   c. said opening beginning on or between the palmar digital crease (not the Thumb crease)—where the fingers meet the palm—and the end of the third finger joint—where said joints connect with the metacarpals,   d. said opening having a length of up to 4 inches,   e. said opening having a width of up to 1.5 inches.   
     
     
         9 . The means, as claimed in  claim 8 , wherein:
 a. said opening leaves the top portion of the palm area substantially uncovered—substantially the natatory ligament area   b. said opening having a length of up to 3.5 inches   c. said opening having a width of up to 1.5 inches   
     
     
         10 . The means, as claimed in  claim 8 , wherein:
 a. said opening extends diagonally up to a 45 degree angle along the lower palm of the hand,   b. said opening remaining above the thumb bulge   c. said opening having a length of up to 4 inches   d. said opening having a width of up to 1.5 inches   
     
     
         11 . The means, as claimed in  claim 8 , wherein:
 a. said opening extends diagonally of over a 45 degree angle along the lower palm of the hand,   b. said opening extending up to or on top of the hypothenar eminence.   c. said opening having a length of up to 4 inches   d. said opening having a width of up to 1.5 inches   
     
     
         12 . Use of the means, in accordance with the claim as claimed in  claim 8 , where said glove is used in the sport of football. 
     
     
         13 . Use of the means, in accordance with the claim as claimed in  claim 8 , where said glove is used in the sport of golf. 
     
     
         14 . Use of the means, in accordance with the claim as claimed in  claim 8 , where said glove is used to putt a golf ball 
     
     
         15 . Use of the means, in accordance with the claim as claimed in  claim 1 , where said glove is used to dribble a basketball 
     
     
         16 . Use of the means, in accordance with the claim as claimed in  claim 8 , where said glove is used to throw a football
