Abstract
The promoter of a soybean lipid transfer protein LTP4 and fragments thereof and their use in promoting the expression of one or more heterologous nucleic acid fragments in plants are described.

20 . An isolated polynucleotide comprising:
(a) a nucleotide sequence encoding a polypeptide having lipid protein transferase activity, wherein the polypeptide has at least 80% sequence identity, based on the Clustal method of alignment, when compared to the sequence set forth in SEQ ID NO:15, or (b) a full-length complement of the nucleotide sequence of (a).
21 . The isolated polynucleotide of claim 20 , wherein the polypeptide has at least 85% sequence identity, based on the Clustal method of alignment, when compared to the sequence set forth in SEQ ID NO:15.
22 . The isolated polynucleotide of claim 20 , wherein the polypeptide has at least 90% sequence identity, based on the Clustal method of alignment, when compared to the sequence set forth in SEQ ID NO:15.
23 . The isolated polynucleotide of claim 20 , wherein the polypeptide has at least 95% sequence identity, based on the Clustal method of alignment, when compared to the sequence set forth in SEQ ID NO:15.

31 . A method for transforming a cell, comprising transforming a cell with the isolated polynucleotide of claim 20 .
32 . A method for producing a plant comprising transforming a plant cell with the isolated polynucleotide of claim 20 and regenerating a plant from the transformed plant cell.
