Abstract

Methods and apparatus for providing a mast system that includes a telescoping mast having first and second mast sections, the mast having a stowed configuration and a deployed configuration, and a stabilization structure including a guy wire to stabilize the mast in the deployed configuration, wherein the guy wire is connected to the first mast section for manipulating the first mast section between the stowed configuration and the deployed configuration.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A mast system, comprising:
a telescoping mast having first, second and third mast sections, the mast having a stowed configuration and a deployed configuration; and a stabilization structure including a guy wire to stabilize the mast in the deployed configuration; wherein the guy wire is connected to the second and third mast sections for manipulating the second and third mast sections between the stowed configuration and the deployed configuration.

2 . The mast system according to claim 1 , wherein the stabilization structure includes at least one outrigger coupled to the guy wire.

3 . The mast system according to claim 1 , further including a mechanism to pull on the guy wire to transition the mast system to the deployed configuration.

4 . The mast system according to claim 1 , wherein the second and third mast sections include respective engagement mechanisms to engage the guy wire.

5 . The mast system according to claim 4 , wherein the engagement mechanisms includes a pulley wheel.

6 . The mast system according to claim 1 , wherein a first end of the guy wire is coupled to a winch mechanism and a second end of the guy wire is coupled to an anchor point.

7 . The mast system according to claim 6 , wherein the anchor point forms a part of the mast system.

8 . The mast system according to claim 1 , further including a second guy wire coupled to the second and third mast sections for manipulating the second and third mast sections to the deployed configuration and securing the mast at a location to complement the first guy wire. [ claim 9 to have a guy wire per mast section]

         9 . A mast system, comprising:
a telescoping mast having first, second, and third mast sections, the mast having a stowed configuration and a deployed configuration; and a stabilization structure including first and second guy wires to stabilize the mast in the deployed configuration; wherein the first guy wire is connected to the second mast section for manipulating the second mast section between the stowed configuration and the deployed configuration, and the second guy wire is connected to the third mast section for manipulating the third mast section between the stowed configuration and the deployed configuration.

10 . The system according to claim 9 , further including a cap coupled to the first and second guy wires.

11 . The system according to claim 10 , wherein the cap is disposed proximate a top of penultimate one of the mast sections.

12 . The system according to claim 9 , wherein the stabilization structure includes at least one outrigger coupled to the first and second guy wires.

13 . The system according to claim 9 , further including a mechanism to pull on at least the first guy wire to transition the mast system to the deployed configuration.

14 . The system according to claim 9 , wherein the second and third mast sections include respective engagement mechanisms to engage the respective first and second guy wires.

15 . The system according to claim 14 , wherein the engagement mechanisms include pulley wheels.

16 . The system according to claim 9 , wherein a first end of the first guy wire is coupled to a winch mechanism and a second end of the first guy wire is coupled to an anchor point.

17 . The system according to claim 16 , wherein the anchor point forms a part of the mast system.

18 . The system according to claim 9 , further including additional guy wires coupled to the second and third mast sections for manipulating the second and third mast sections to the deployed configuration and securing the mast at locations to complement the first and second guy wires.
