Abstract

A mobile terminal and a method of controlling the same are provided. The mobile terminal includes: a display; a radio communication unit for communicating with at least one another electronic device; and a controller for controlling to divide information about at least one another electronic device that communicates through the radio communication unit into a first object corresponding to a first electronic device having a managing attribute of contents and a second object corresponding to a second electronic device having an attribute of rendering the contents and the display to display the first object and the second object.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A mobile terminal, comprising:
a display; a radio communication unit configured to communicate with at least one other electronic device; and a controller operatively connected to the display and the radio communication unit, the controller configured to divide information about at least two other electronic devices that communicate with the mobile terminal through the radio communication unit into a first object corresponding to a first electronic device having an attribute of managing contents and a second object corresponding to a second electronic device having an attribute of rendering the contents, and simultaneously display the first object and the second object on the display.

2 . The mobile terminal of claim 1 , wherein the controller is configured to
partition the display into a plurality of areas, and simultaneously display the first object and the second object in a common area of the partitioned plurality of areas.

3 . The mobile terminal of claim 2 , wherein the controller is configured to display a third object on or near one of the first and second objects, the third object representing a communication state between the mobile terminal and one of the first and second electronic devices corresponding to the one of the first and second objects.

4 . The mobile terminal of claim 1 , wherein the controller is configured to differently display at least one of a color and a shape of one of the first and second objects according to a communication state between the mobile terminal and a corresponding one of the first and second electronic devices.

5 . The mobile terminal of claim 1 , wherein the controller is configured to differently display at least one of a color and a shape of one of the first and second objects in response to a user selection of a corresponding one of the first and second electronic devices.

6 . The mobile terminal of claim 1 , wherein the controller is configured to
display a list of electronic device types, and search, via through the radio communication unit, for an electronic device corresponding to a user selection of one of the electronic device types displayed in the list.

7 . The mobile terminal of claim 6 , further comprising:
a memory operatively connected to the controller and configured to store index information of the first and second electronic devices, wherein the controller is configured to search for the first and second electronic devices based on the stored index information.

8 . The mobile terminal of claim 6 , wherein the controller is configured to change a display characteristic of one of the first and second objects when the electronic device corresponding to the user selection is detected.

9 . The mobile terminal of claim 8 , wherein the selection signal is one of a touch action and a drag-and-drop applied to the displayed list.

10 . The mobile terminal of claim 1 , further comprising:
a memory operatively connected to the controller and configured to store connection information of the at least one other electronic device, wherein the controller is configured to start communication with the other electronic device corresponding to the connection information when the mobile terminal moves to a predetermined distance from the other electronic device.

         11 . A mobile terminal, comprising:
a display; a radio communication unit configured to communicate with at least one other electronic device; and a controller operatively connected to the display and the radio communication unit, the controller configured to simultaneously display a first object for selecting a first electronic device having an attribute of managing contents and a second object for selecting a second electronic device having an attribute of rendering the objects, and transmit the contents from the first electronic device to the second electronic device in response to a user input to one of the displayed first and second objects.

12 . The mobile terminal of claim 11 , wherein the controller is configured to partition the display into a plurality of areas and display the first and second objects in a common area of the partitioned plurality of areas.

13 . The mobile terminal of claim 11 , wherein the controller is configured to differently display at least one of a color and a shape of the first and second objects according to a communication state between the mobile terminal and a corresponding one of the first and second electronic devices.

14 . The mobile terminal of claim 11 , wherein the controller is configured to differently display at least one of a color and a shape of one of the first and second objects in response to a user selection of a corresponding one of the first and second electronic devices.

15 . A method of controlling a mobile terminal, the method comprising:
simultaneously displaying, by the mobile terminal, a first object corresponding to a first electronic device having an attribute of managing contents and a second object corresponding to a second electronic device having an attribute of rendering the contents; and transmitting, by the mobile terminal, the contents from the first electronic device to the second electronic device in response to a user input to one of the first and second objects.

16 . The method of claim 15 , wherein the displaying of a first object comprises:
receiving a first user selection signal for selecting the first object; and searching for electronic devices corresponding to the first electronic device and displaying a first list of the electronic devices corresponding to the first electronic device.

17 . The method of claim 16 , further comprising:
receiving a second user selection signal for selecting at least one of the first electronic devices displayed on the first list; and displaying a list of the contents stored in the selected first electronic device.

18 . The method of claim 17 , further comprising
changing a display characteristic of the first object to correspond to the selected first electronic device.

19 . The method of claim 15 , wherein the transmitting of the contents comprises:
receiving a third user selection signal for selecting the second object; searching for electronic devices corresponding to the second electronic device and displaying a second list of the electronic devices corresponding to the second electronic device; and receiving a fourth user selection signal for selecting at least one of the second electronic devices displayed on the second list.

20 . The method of claim 19 , further comprising:
changing a display characteristic of the second object to correspond to the selected second electronic device.
