Abstract

When a sheet P is jammed after start of a print job, it is determined whether an automatic resumption mode for automatically resuming the print job is set. When a determination result of this determination is affirmative, the print job is resumed after the jam is released. When the determination result is negative, the print job is stopped.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . An image forming apparatus comprising:
a cassette which stores a sheet; a display; a printer which forms an image on the sheet conveyed from the cassette; and a controller which starts a print job for forming the image on the sheet, resumes the print job after a jammed sheet is released from the printer if the automatic resumption mode is set, and transfers the print job without the automatic resumption mode after the jammed sheet is released from the printer if a user sets to transfer the print job on the display.

         2 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein
the controller transfers the print job to an external apparatus without the automatic resumption mode after the jammed sheet is released from the printer if a user sets to transfer the print job on the display.

         3 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein
the controller determines whether it is possible to stop the print job if the automatic resumption mode is not set and resumes the print job after the jammed sheet is released from the printer if the print job is not possible to stop.

         4 . The apparatus of claim 3 , wherein
the controller stops the print job without the automatic resumption mode after the jammed sheet is released from the printer if the print job is possible to stop and a user sets to stop the print job on the display.

         5 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein
the display is a liquid crystal display screen of a touch panel type having an operation function for the setting.

6 . The apparatus of claim 5 , further comprising a control panel having the liquid crystal display screen.

7 . A control method of an image forming apparatus including a cassette which stores a sheet, a display, a printer which forms an image on the sheet conveyed from the cassette, the control method comprising:
starting a print job for forming the image on the sheet, resuming the print job after a jammed sheet is released from the printer if the automatic resumption mode is set, and transferring the print job without the automatic resumption mode after the jammed sheet is released from the printer if a user sets to transfer the print job on the display.

8 . The control method of claim 7 , wherein
the transferring transfers the print job to an external apparatus without the automatic resumption mode after the jammed sheet is released from the printer if a user sets to transfer the print job on the display.

9 . The control method of claim 7 , further comprising:
determining whether it is possible to stop the print job if the automatic resumption mode is not set, and resuming the print job after the jammed sheet is released from the printer if the print job is not possible to stop.

10 . The control method of claim 9 , further comprising:
stopping the print job without the automatic resumption mode after the jammed sheet is released from the printer if the print job is possible to stop and a user sets to stop the print job on the display.

11 . The control method of claim 7 , the display is a liquid crystal display screen of a touch panel type having an operation function for the setting.

12 . The control method of claim 11 , further comprising a control panel having the liquid crystal display screen.

13 . An image forming apparatus comprising:
a cassette for storing a sheet; a display; a printer forming an image on the sheet conveyed from the cassette; and a control means for starting a print job for forming the image on the sheet, for resuming the print job after a jammed sheet is released from the printer if the automatic resumption mode is set, and for transferring the print job without the automatic resumption mode after the jammed sheet is released from the printer if a user sets to transfer the print job on the display.

         14 . The apparatus of claim 13 , wherein
the control means transfers the print job to an external apparatus without the automatic resumption mode after the jammed sheet is released from the printer if a user sets to transfer the print job on the display.

         15 . The apparatus of claim 13 , wherein
the control means determines whether it is possible to stop the print job if the automatic resumption mode is not set and resumes the print job after the jammed sheet is released from the printer if the print job is not possible to stop.

         16 . The apparatus of claim 15 , wherein
the control means stops the print job without the automatic resumption mode after the jammed sheet is released from the printer if the print job is possible to stop and a user sets to stop the print job on the display.

         17 . The apparatus of claim 13 , wherein
the display is a liquid crystal display screen of a touch panel type having an operation function for the setting.

18 . The apparatus of claim 17 , further comprising a control panel having the liquid crystal display screen.
