Abstract

A method of rating eyewear includes providing eyewear to be rated, measuring a physical property of the eyewear selected from a group that includes ultraviolet radiation absorption, blue light radiation absorption, infrared radiation absorption, and light blocking capability, transforming the physical property into a rating value, and informing a prospective consumer of the rating value.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A method of rating eyewear comprising the steps of:
providing eyewear to be rated; measuring a physical property of the eyewear selected from the group comprising ultraviolet radiation absorption, blue light radiation absorption, infrared radiation absorption, and light blocking capability; transforming the physical property into a rating value; and informing a prospective consumer of the rating value.

2 . The method of rating eyewear of claim 1 , further comprising:
the physical property is not the light blocking capability; measuring the light blocking capability; transforming the measured light blocking capability into a light blocking rating value; and informing the prospective consumer of the light blocking rating value.

3 . The method of rating eyewear of claim 2 , wherein the step of informing the prospective consumer further comprises affixing one of the rating value and the light rating value to the eyewear.

4 . The method of rating eyewear of claim 2 , further comprising:
transforming the rating value and the light blocking rating value into a rating factor; and informing the prospective consumer of the rating factor.

5 . The method of rating eyewear of claim 4 , wherein the step of informing the prospective consumer of the rating factor comprises affixing the rating factor to the eyewear.

6 . The method of rating eyewear of claim 1 , further comprising:
measuring two physical properties of the eyewear; transforming the two physical properties into respective first and second rating values; and informing the prospective consumer of the first and second rating values.

7 . The method of rating eyewear of claim 6 , further comprising:
neither of the two physical properties is the light blocking capability; measuring the light blocking capability; transforming the measured light blocking capability into a light blocking rating value; and informing the prospective consumer of the light blocking rating value.

8 . The method of rating eyewear of claim 7 , wherein the step of informing the prospective consumer further comprises affixing one of the first rating value, second rating value, and the light rating value to the eyewear.

9 . The method of rating eyewear of claim 7 , further comprising:
transforming the first and second rating values and the light blocking rating value into a rating factor; and informing the prospective consumer of the rating factor.

10 . The method of rating eyewear of claim 9 , wherein the step of informing the prospective consumer of the rating factor comprises affixing the rating factor to the eyewear.

11 . The method of rating eyewear of claim 6 , further comprising:
measuring three physical properties of the eyewear; and transforming the three physical properties into respective first, second, and third rating values.

12 . The method of rating eyewear of claim 11 , further comprising:
none of the three physical properties is the light blocking capability; measuring the light blocking capability; transforming the measured light blocking capability into a light blocking rating value; and informing the prospective consumer of the light blocking rating value.

13 . The method of rating eyewear of claim 12 , wherein the step of informing the prospective consumer further comprises affixing one of the first rating value, second rating value, third rating value, and the light rating value to the eyewear.

14 . The method of rating eyewear of claim 12 , further comprising:
transforming the first, second, and third rating values and the light blocking rating value into a rating factor; and informing the prospective consumer of the rating factor.

15 . The method of rating eyewear of claim 14 , wherein the step of informing the prospective consumer of the rating factor comprises affixing the rating factor to the eyewear.

16 . A method of rating eyewear comprising the steps of:
providing eyewear to be rated; measuring ultraviolet radiation absorption, blue light radiation absorption, and infrared radiation absorption properties of the eyewear; measuring the light blocking capability of the eyewear; transforming the measured ultraviolet radiation absorption, blue light radiation absorption, and infrared radiation absorption properties and the measured light blocking capability of the eyewear into a single rating factor; and affixing the transformed rating factor to the eyewear.
