Abstract

An apparatus for polynomial based data transformation may include a processor. The processor may be configured to identify data that is relevant to a set of one or more queries and generate an information source vector that indicates information sources associated with the data. The processor may also be configured to generate a cyclotomic polynomial based on the information source vector and factor the cyclotomic polynomial to generate a plurality of orthogonal data signatures. Associated methods and computer program products may also be provided.

         21 . An apparatus comprising
 at least one processor; and   at least one memory including computer program code for one or more programs,   the at least one memory and the computer program code configured to, with the at least one processor, cause the apparatus to perform at least the following,
 determine data that is relevant to a set of one or more queries; 
 cause, at least in part, a generation of a polynomial based on an information source vector that indicates information sources associated with the data; and 
 cause, at least in part, a factoring of the polynomial to generate a plurality of orthogonal data signatures. 
   
     
     
         22 . An apparatus of  claim 21 , wherein the apparatus is further caused to:
 determine to direct a dispersion of the orthogonal data signatures to information stores within a dynamic distributed device network.   
     
     
         23 . An apparatus of  claim 21 , wherein the polynomial includes, at least in part, a cyclotomic polynomial. 
     
     
         24 . An apparatus of  claim 21 , wherein the apparatus is further caused to:
 determine to locate two or more of the orthogonal data signatures;   cause, at least in part, a reconstruction of the polynomial based, at least in part, on the located orthogonal data signatures; and   cause, at least in part, a generation of a deductive data closure from the polynomial.   
     
     
         25 . An apparatus of  claim 21 , wherein the apparatus is further caused to:
 determine to perform a verification of the information source vector by generating an equivalence class.   
     
     
         26 . An apparatus of  claim 21 , wherein the apparatus is further caused to:
 determine to update the orthogonal data signatures by factoring a new polynomial generated based, at least in part, on updated data.   
     
     
         27 . An apparatus of  claim 21 , wherein the orthogonal data signatures include, at least in part, irreducible polynomials. 
     
     
         28 . A method comprising:
 determining data that is relevant to a set of one or more queries;   causing, at least in part, a generation of a polynomial based on an information source vector that indicates information sources associated with the data; and   causing, at least in part, a factoring of the polynomial to generate a plurality of orthogonal data signatures.   
     
     
         29 . A method of  claim 28 , further comprising:
 determining to direct a dispersion of the orthogonal data signatures to information stores within a dynamic distributed device network.   
     
     
         30 . A method of  claim 28 , wherein the polynomial includes, at least in part, a cyclotomic polynomial. 
     
     
         31 . A method of  claim 28 , further comprising:
 determining to locate two or more of the orthogonal data signatures;   causing, at least in part, a reconstruction of the polynomial based, at least in part, on the located orthogonal data signatures; and   causing, at least in part, a generation of a deductive data closure from the polynomial.   
     
     
         32 . A method of  claim 28 , further comprising:
 determining to update the orthogonal data signatures by factoring a new polynomial generated based, at least in part, on updated data.   
     
     
         33 . A method of  claim 28 , wherein the orthogonal data signatures include, at least in part, irreducible polynomials. 
     
     
         34 . A computer-readable storage medium carrying one or more sequences of one or more instructions which, when executed by one or more processors, cause an apparatus to at least perform the following steps:
 determining data that is relevant to a set of one or more queries;   causing, at least in part, a generation of a polynomial based on an information source vector that indicates information sources associated with the data; and   causing, at least in part, a factoring of the polynomial to generate a plurality of orthogonal data signatures.   
     
     
         35 . A computer-readable storage medium of  claim 34 , wherein the apparatus is caused to further perform:
 determining to direct a dispersion of the orthogonal data signatures to information stores within a dynamic distributed device network.   
     
     
         36 . A computer-readable storage medium of  claim 34 , wherein the polynomial includes, at least in part, a cyclotomic polynomial. 
     
     
         37 . A computer-readable storage medium of  claim 34 , wherein the apparatus is caused to further perform:
 determining to locate two or more of the orthogonal data signatures;   causing, at least in part, a reconstruction of the polynomial based, at least in part, on the located orthogonal data signatures; and   causing, at least in part, a generation of a deductive data closure from the polynomial.   
     
     
         38 . A computer-readable storage medium of  claim 34 , wherein the apparatus is caused to further perform:
 determining to update the orthogonal data signatures by factoring a new polynomial generated based, at least in part, on updated data.   
     
     
         39 . An apparatus comprising:
 means for determining data that is relevant to a set of one or more queries;   means for causing, at least in part, a generation of a polynomial based on an information source vector that indicates information sources associated with the data; and   means for causing, at least in part, a factoring of the polynomial to generate a plurality of orthogonal data signatures.   
     
     
         40 . An apparatus of  claim 39 , further comprising:
 means for determining to direct a dispersion of the orthogonal data signatures to information stores within a dynamic distributed device network.
