Hand-held device
Abstract
A hand-held device that provides communication services and symbol processing is described. The device includes a case having a front side comprising a display and a lid having a transparent portion through which the display can be seen in a lid-closed state. In one version, the hand-held device comprises a QWERTY keyboard including an arrangement of digits as in a touch-tone telephone keypad arrangement. In another version, the display includes a handwriting area for data entry using a stylus or other screen data entry device. In a closed position, the lid extends over the display and the keyboard, leaving another user input device physically accessible to touch for receiving input wherein the device performs processing responsive to receiving input from the physically accessible user input device in the lid closed state.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 20 . (canceled)
21 . A mobile computing device comprising:
a housing; a touch-sensitive display screen provided on a front face of the housing to receive an input from a stylus, wherein the stylus includes a tip at a first end and a lip at a second end; and a stylus holder provided with the housing to retain the stylus, the stylus holder including an opening having a downward slope at a peripheral end of the housing to coincide with placement of the lip of the stylus, so as to align with the lip and retain the stylus.
22 . The mobile computing device of claim 21 , further comprising one or more input mechanisms for receiving additional user inputs.
23 . The mobile computing device of claim 21 , wherein the stylus holder is provided on a back face of the housing.
24 . The mobile computing device of claim 21 , wherein the stylus holder extends cylindrically within the housing.
25 . The mobile computing device of claim 21 , wherein the lip of the stylus slopes downward at a first angle, and wherein the downward slope of the opening is equal to the first angle.
26 . The mobile computing device of claim 21 , wherein the stylus comprises a cylindrical body between the tip at the first end and the lip at the second end.
27 . The mobile computing device of claim 21 , further comprising logic for providing cellular communications.
28 . A mobile computing device comprising:
a housing; one or more processors for operating one or more applications; a touch-sensitive display screen coupled to the one or more processors, the touch-sensitive display screen being provided on a front face of the housing to receive an input from a stylus, wherein the stylus includes a tip at a first end and a lip at a second end; and a stylus holder provided with the housing to retain the stylus, the stylus holder including an opening having a downward slope at a peripheral end of the housing to coincide with placement of the lip of the stylus, so as to align with the lip and retain the stylus.
29 . The mobile computing device of claim 28 , further comprising one or more input mechanisms for receiving additional user inputs.
30 . The mobile computing device of claim 28 , wherein the stylus holder is provided on a back face of the housing.
31 . The mobile computing device of claim 28 , wherein the stylus holder extends cylindrically within the housing.
32 . The mobile computing device of claim 28 , wherein the lip of the stylus slopes downward at a first angle, and wherein the downward slope of the opening is equal to the first angle.
33 . The mobile computing device of claim 28 , wherein the stylus comprises a cylindrical body between the tip at the first end and the lip at the second end
34 . The mobile computing device of claim 28 , further comprising a radio module coupled to the one or more processors for providing cellular communications, wherein the one or more applications includes a telephone application.
35 . A mobile computing device comprising:
a housing; one or more processors for operating one or more applications; a touch-sensitive display screen coupled to the one or more processors, the touch-sensitive display screen being provided on a front face of the housing to receive an input from a stylus, wherein the stylus includes a cylindrical body having a tip at a first end and a lip at a second end; and a stylus holder provided on the back face of the housing to retain the stylus, the stylus holder including an opening having a downward slope at a peripheral end of the housing to coincide with placement of the lip of the stylus, so as to align with the lip and retain the stylus.Cited by (0)
