Abstract
A method is provided for fabricating a seal ring. The method includes positioning a mount assembly adjacent to at least one of an inner diameter and an outer diameter of an annular seal ring, and securing the annular seal ring to the mounting assembly. The method also includes forming at least one of an admission side hook and a steam joint side hook in the annular seal ring.

exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A method for fabricating a seal ring, said method comprising:
positioning a mount assembly adjacent to at least one of an inner diameter and an outer diameter of an annular seal ring; securing the annular seal ring to the mounting assembly; and forming at least one of an admission side hook and a steam joint side hook in the annular seal ring, wherein the annular seal ring is supported by at least one riser extending from the mount assembly.
2 . A method in accordance with claim 1 , wherein forming at least one of an admission side hook and a steam joint side hook in the annular seal ring further comprises cutting the admission side hook and the steam joint side hook at substantially the same time.
3 . A method in accordance with claim 1 , further comprising positioning the annular seal ring on the at least one riser prior to securing the seal ring to the mounting assembly.
4 . A method in accordance with claim 1 , further comprising providing cutting tool access to at least one of a first side and a second side of the seal ring while the seal ring is secured to the mounting assembly.
5 . A method in accordance with claim 1 , further comprising cutting a tooth profile in the inner diameter of the seal ring.
6 . A method in accordance with claim 1 , wherein forming at least one of an admission side hook and a steam joint side hook in the annular seal ring further comprises:
forming one of the admission side hook and the steam joint side hook into a first side of the seal ring while the seal ring is secured in a first position in the mounting assembly; and forming the other of the admission side hook and the steam joint side hook into a second side of the seal ring while the seal ring is secured in a second position in the mounting assembly.
7 . A method in accordance with claim 1 , further comprising:
segmenting the annular ring into a plurality of arcuate segments; positioning at least one segment of the seal ring in a second mounting assembly; and cutting a tooth profile into the inner diameter of the seal ring while the seal ring is positioned in the second mounting assembly.

21 . A method for fabricating a seal ring, said method comprising:
positioning a mount assembly adjacent to at least one of an inner diameter and an outer diameter of a seal ring; securing the annular seal ring to the mounting assembly such that cutting tool access is provided to at least one of a first side and a second side of the seal ring while the seal ring is secured to the mounting assembly; forming at least one of an admission side hook and a steam joint side hook in the annular seal ring; and cutting a tooth profile into the inner diameter of the seal ring while the seal ring is positioned in the mounting assembly.
22 . A method in accordance with claim 21 , wherein forming at least one of an admission side hook and a steam joint side hook in the annular seal ring further comprises forming the admission side hook and the steam joint side hook in the seal ring at substantially the same time.
23 . A method in accordance with claim 21 , wherein securing the annular seal ring to the mounting assembly further comprises:
securing the annular seal ring in a first position to enable said cutting tool to cut one of the admission side hook and the steam joint side hook into a first side of the seal ring; and securing the annular seal ring in a second position to enable said cutting tool to cut the other of the admission side hook and the steam joint side hook into a second side of the seal ring.
24 . A method in accordance with claim 21 , further comprising securing a second mounting assembly to the full seal ring to enable the cutting tool to cut a tooth profile into the inner diameter of the seal ring.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
