Abstract
This disclosure concerns an interactive head-mounted eyepiece with an integrated processor for handling content for display and an integrated image source for introducing the content to an optical assembly through which the user views a surrounding environment and the displayed content. The optical assembly includes absorptive polarizers or anti-reflective coatings to reduce stray light.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A system, comprising:
an interactive head-mounted eyepiece worn by a user, wherein the eyepiece includes an optical assembly through which the user views a surrounding environment and, optionally, displayed content, an integrated sensor that senses an aspect of the environment, an integrated processor for handling sensor data and content for presentation to the user, an audio facility that presents audio content to the user, and an optional integrated image source for introducing content to the optical assembly, wherein the sensor is a GPS sensor that determines a location of the user and a navigation application utilizes the GPS sensor data to audibly announce the location.
2 . The system of claim 1 , wherein various points of interest to the user are announced as they are approached or reached.
3 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the user is audibly guided to an endpoint by the navigation application.
4 . A system, comprising:
an interactive head-mounted eyepiece worn by a user, wherein the eyepiece includes an optical assembly through which the user views a surrounding environment and, optionally, displayed content, an integrated sensor that senses an aspect of the environment, an integrated processor for handling sensor data and content for presentation to the user, a haptic facility that notifies the user of sensed data, and an optional integrated image source for introducing content to the optical assembly, wherein the sensor is a camera that images the surrounding environment and an object recognition application that utilizes the camera data; and wherein when the object recognition application determines that there is an object in the surrounding environment, the user is notified via the haptic facility.
5 . A system, comprising:
an interactive head-mounted eyepiece worn by a user, wherein the eyepiece includes an optical assembly through which the user views a surrounding environment and, optionally, displayed content, an integrated sensor that senses an aspect of the environment, an integrated processor for handling sensor data and content for presentation to the user, an audio facility that notifies the user of sensed data, and an optional integrated image source for introducing content to the optical assembly, wherein the sensor is a camera that images the surrounding environment and an object recognition application that utilizes the camera data; and wherein when the object recognition application determines that there is an object in the surrounding environment, the user is notified via the audio facility.
6 . A system, comprising:
an interactive head-mounted eyepiece worn by a user, wherein the eyepiece includes an optical assembly through which the user views a surrounding environment and, optionally, displayed content, an integrated sensor that senses an aspect of the environment, an integrated processor for handling sensor data and content for presentation to the user, an audio facility that notifies the user of sensed data, and an optional integrated image source for introducing content to the optical assembly, wherein the sensor is a camera that images the surrounding environment and a face recognition application that utilizes the camera data; and wherein when the face recognition application identifies a person in the surrounding environment, the user is notified via the audio facility.
7 . The system of claim 6 , wherein the notification includes the identity of the person.Cited by (0)
