Multimedia data recording method and apparatus for automatically generating/updating metadata

Abstract

Provided is a multimedia data recording method including: receiving one or more search object items for searching for scenes including the same kind of information from media data; selecting one or more scenes that contain each of the search object items during the input of the media data; generating metadata including one or more pieces of scene information from among an index or reproduction time of the selected scenes; and recording the metadata onto a header region and recording the media data onto a payload region.

1 . A multimedia data recording method using digital imaging devise comprising:
 recording video data being shot by the digital imaging device and a first metadata generated regarding the video data;   if a user request is input to select a scene being currently shot during shooting and recording the video data, generating image data corresponding to the scene;   generating a second metadata regarding the image data comprising scene information on an index or reproduction time of the image data and linkage information between the input user request and the scene information; and   recording the image data generated by the user request and the second metadata while recording the video data and the first metadata.   
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the user request is input via a user interface on the digital imaging device.
