Abstract

The invention provides methods and systems for ruggedizing a nucleic acid analyzing apparatus. The ruggedized apparatus can be used reliably and effectively in uncontrolled environments, such as, for example at a crime scene to collect and analyze forensic data, as well as in semi-controlled environments, such as, for example at a point of care location.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A test module for analyzing a sample of biomolecular analyte using electrophoresis, the test module comprising:
a plurality of fluid channels disposed within a member formed of a transparent material, wherein each fluid channel is in electrical communication with an anode and a cathode, and each fluid channel comprises a separation portion, a waste arm in fluid communication with a waste arm opening, a first sample arm opening, and a second sample arm opening, wherein the waste arm opening is in fluid communication with a single separation portion.

2 . The test module of claim 1 , wherein the first sample arm opening being adapted to receive a biasing solution and the second sample arm opening being adapted to receive the sample of biomolecular analyte.

3 . The test module of claim 1 , wherein the at least one fluid channel comprises a microfluidic channel.

4 . The test module of claim 1 , wherein the test module is formed from glass.

5 . The test module of claim 1 , wherein the test module is formed from polymer.
